I’ll say it again, who was the last opponent to get a straight red for serious foul play against us? It is a joke

What is amazing is that Stuart Atwell as VAR called it. It’s quite unusual now for a referee not to overturn his original decision.

If any ref is going to be completely arrogant enough to disregard the opinion of the var ref then it’s Mike Dean

So very true.

So far Godfrey has cut Saka down twice and stamped his boot in Tomiyasu’s face. It happens far too often against us that players are allowed to continually foul, dangerously with no punishment

Lacazette barely had a kick.

Some stinking performances here.

Why did Ødegaard turn and pass that back????????????
He had lots of space to run onto. And Saka was already running forward.

Big reprieve with the offside to disallow that goal. We need to wake the hell up. I knew that free kick was going to lead to a problem for us

With every passing game it looks more and more like our string of good performances earlier in the fall was a blip rather than us finding a new level. Very depressing

We got lucky with that disallowed goal. Bang average performance so far, although we should at least be playing with an extra man.

Nice work by Tierney too.

This is bloody awful.
Everton are on their second longest run without a defeat in their prem history, their fans planned a walk out and we turn up to give total encouragement to any team no matter how awful or low on confidence they are

That is why Tierney had to play at old Trafford.

Wow. A bit of quality and we’ve snuck in front. Nothing up to them showed we deserved it. Very lucky to be 1-0 up.

Need to push on and Arteta needs to give them all a rocket in the second half

Lovely cross, but was his second touch off his knee after the initial control a bit unintended? It worked!

We're back to being poor at handling the opponents press without being able to press effectively ourselves which is a worry

I don’t think you will ever see a more blatant red card than that not given. It defies belief

What Neville and Carragher have said is that to them as professional players they are utterly convinced that it was deliberate and should have been a red. But also that they can see why it wasn’t given because the reffing team are more easily fooled.

Puts some of David Luiz’s into context doesn’t it? The ones where repeated slow motion was necessary to show that there had been any contact at all.

We need to pull ourselves together and actually play a bit in the second half. We're a much better footballing side than Everton, but our chances of outscrapping them is far lower than our chance of outplaying them. As we've seen from the (too few) good performances we've had this season it all starts with intensity and making it difficult for the opponent.

Absolutely

Remember the one at wolves. Didn’t even touch him. I just can’t believe it

I think that this is the type of game to give Pépé a run on this wet surface

Godfrey gets the most deserved card in the entire history of football.

That’s a red and 2 yellows Godfrey has had so far but only 1 yellow to his name

Bring him on to stop Saka getting kicked off the pitch

I think it’s worth putting him up against Godfrey. One more bad challenge.

That’s offside. The 18 yard box line is doing the var line for you! Richarlison is past the line and the arsenal defender isn’t
