Because Fred was about to play the ball. It means they can’t ignore it. If Gabriel trips Ronaldo in the other corner of the box you bet they’re ignoring it if the ref misses it. I’ve seen it quite a lot now. Unless the ball is landing on your head they won’t interfere with those in the box haul down jobs.

I meant that the penalty for them was the correct decision.

But we should also have had the benefit of VAR. That was not a good decision.

We really should not have lost this game. Very poor really.

But Aubameyang isn’t really a striker either as he is proving repeatedly. Martinelli is dangerous offensively and does make things happen.

It's not a disatrous performance or result by any means, but I agree that it feels like we should've been able to grind out a draw here.
