At full strength, I think arguably both Spanish giants, PSG and Bayern Munich and City maybe are better than us. I don't see anyone in Serie A better.

What a good first half performance.
Trossard looks like he is going to be very good signing.
Really impressed by him.
We have looked solid and threatening despite only having 6 of out starting from the weekend while city have 9 starting from the weekend.
Holding needs to be subbed off.
He'll get himself sent off

We did very well in the first half. Showed that we are not afraid of Man City. Keep it going!

We are frustrating Haaland by shadowing him. So far Mikel's tactics, the booking on Holding notwithstanding, is doing well, but its touch and go. He's good for a goal or two. Trossard trying a bit too much to impress taking on players, even when he's doubled up on, when he's better off laying off the ball. I'm being a bit harsh and I understand it. He's a wonderful addition though.

Very ballsy of us with all those changes to press them all the way up to the keeper. But its working.

Very encouraging to see us competing so well with 6 changes. Holding on a yellow against Haaland is the big worry going forward.

Holding seems to want to wrestle him at every juncture.

It looks like Dyche is going to be that manager. His first game in charge will be against us. Not ideal for us with everyone else having been able to play Lampard's horror show - they're still poor players and we're still top of the league so we should win.

Dyche is a good appointment for Everton though

We are now a team that impose ourselves despite the opponent. And we must do so when we start against Everton. Do not be complacent and seize the initiative from the get go.

Big question is do we keep Holding on the pitch? The battle with Haaland will be a physical one and there will be a lot of tugging, pushing and such and I can see the referee calling something 50/50 between them in City's favor.

All season there’s been a sense of yes you’re doing well but just wait until you play…..

Well, the only team left has been Man City. And, irrespective of this Cup result, we are doing a great job.

He could just switch Tom and him.

Saliba on for Holding - makes sense because of the yellow card

Lokonga also on for Partey. Hopefully that’s pre planned or at worst just a precaution. Otherwise any CM we want just added £20m to their price

Interesting, Saliba I can see for the change. We'll see how this pans out. We made a statement the first half though. Especially playing away.

Lokonga panicked but Haaland fouled in the box.

Saka should have tracked Ake instead of following Grealish

Ramsdale would have saved that, but Haaland would have pounced on that. I didn't expect us to win this once I saw the 2nd half line up. It was going to be mainly one way traffic. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a cricket score and hurt us mentally. If we can pull one back and show some dominance, that would be great. We are bringing in the guns so lets see what happens.

Actually I didn’t. I had felt that we were bossing it and more likely to score than them.

If we can get more shots on goal like or near shots like Eddie did and show them we can put you under pressure , that will be good.

Nicely placed by Ake but did anyone else see Haaland pulling Gaby back?

If parteys injured himself in this game we are screwed totally.

That said I don’t think we have been that bad.

Defensively way out of his depth. We are the poorer for Partey going off.

Turner is doing decent given how big this game is. Hope I didn't jinx him.

We are pressing them and scaring them in their own box. That in of itself is a statement.

That’s that I think. It’s not bad really and despite playing several reserves I think we did ok. It’s certainly no psychological defeat despite what the media will probably say over the next few days.
