Well that's all sorted then. Nothing to see here.

He'll fit in well at the Chavs.

*Edit - that's the Club who, after an internal investigation, have concluded he didn't do it!

That part of the United statement is nuts. Shows little understanding about the circumstances of abuse.

Why did United release that initial statement about it ? To try and gauge public opinion on it and when they realised it there was going to be a huge backlash they backtracked. That’s football folks, check your morality at the door with this sport.

Whilst I agree with gunfire there are problems with it I would hope if it occurred at Arsenal we would have done the same thing to be honest.

Wouldn’t surprise me one iota if he turned up at Chelsea.

I don't think Man U have played the Greenwood situation very well, but they have been put in a difficult position. Obviously we the public have very few facts to go on and Man U will have conducted their own I assume thorough investigation.

My opinion is Greenwood is clearly not innocent and the best thing for him now is to try to rebuild his career in a foreign league and hopefully use this event as a marker to hopefully flick a switch in his brain and rehabilitate himself and his behavior.

I am reluctantly impressed with what Postacoglu has done so far at Spurs. He seems like a good appointment. He seems light years from the likes of Conte and Mourinho who always seemed to be spoiling for a fight and everything that came out of their mouth seemed so calculated.

I think he's dealt with the Kane saga well and has immediately set Spurs up in a much more attacking way than Conte did so already has the fans on side. This allows the 'process' to be trusted as the fans will be more patient in the sticky patches because they can buy in to the idea of attacking modern football.

He's still got huge problems to fix and I think Spurs will leak a lot of goals and struggle to spread out Kane's goals appropriately, but I think Maddison is a great signing for them. He seems to have already rejuvenated Bissouma, which is a huge minus on Conte's managerial CV, and has the impressive Bentancur to come back in.

The problem he has to fix is a bit of a stagnant front 3. Son doesn't look like getting his zip and form back, Richarlison just snarls his way through games and can't score and Kulusevsi is just a big meh on the other side.

Spurs needed a shake up and it is clear to see the parallels of where we were when Arteta took over. You can't fault Arteta's process, the plan was clear, the style of football evolved but the goal was clear, the recruitment was young and smart and followed a clear pattern, and any problems were ushered out of the door quickly.

I don't think Spurs will finish top 4 but I think he'll be good for them.

While I'm happy Man Utd lost as I consider them a far greater threat to us than Spurs, and while I was very impressed with their midfield in the 2nd half, I think its much too soon to say they are back.

Second game of the season does not a successful season make. It's his first season and in a new league. Man Utd could have either won or drawn the game if one or two things had gone their way.

Doku to sign for Man City 60m euros. he's the Mahrez replacement

never more than 7 goals in a season but he's quick and a good dribbler. Will have to learn the defensive side of the game if he's to be trusted by Pep

With respect Rich, we the public knew - know - pretty much everything. The soundtrack of the incident went viral, as did the photos of injuries caused. It’s still out there. The charges were dropped because a central character withdrew their allegations and refused to testify.

Greenwood wasn’t found innocent. The club say that he didn’t commit the offences, but that carries no real weight. It’s their opinion. It ignores the truly horrific material posted on social media - ‘the evidence’ - that formed the basis of the charges. To baldly say that he didn’t do it defies reason.

Having said all that, I do have some sympathy for the Club. Without a guilty verdict, they couldn’t sack him without risking damaging legal action. He is - was - a very valuable commodity. If we price Balogun at £50m, what figure would we have put on Greenwood? English - 21 years old - international caps - proven goalscorer at PL level? Got to be £80m plus.

if you read The Athletic, there’s a great day-by-day commentary on how the club have have struggled with this decision. They were desperate to get him back into the team but they were faced with possible strikes and withdrawal of sponsorships. Not easy. There but for the grace of god go a number of clubs - enough said.

Maybe they’ve been dragged kickcking and screaming but I actually think the club has done the right thing here. Fair play to the Mancs on this one.

Gabriel on the bench again apparently and he apparently met with the Saudis today in London.

Are we seriously going to sell KT and Gabriel. Saw today that Holding might be off to Beskitas too. Even if we sold 2 of the 3 of them we would need to buy another defender. Sell all 3 and we will need 2 in.

Just doesn’t compute at all. Somethings up

Can only hope that Edu & Arteta know what they're doing. Nobody was considering we might sell Gabriel this summer- certainly not me.

Why would you even consider selling Gabriel so late in the window? Cant imagine it would do squad morale any good either.

Plus, having just been selected for Brazil why would he want to go to Saudi, except for an extortionate amount of money.

Not a fan of Thomas Partey as an inverted RB.

Not defensively aware enough or quick enough to negate his defensive shortcomings.

Might a scenario similar to Turner-Raya. Arteta sees an upgrade somewhere in the transfer market and has okd a sale to fund his replacement.

For me he’s a first name on the team sheet therefore I’m pretty certain he’s off. Let’s face it he would be starting otherwise.

Playing Thomas Partey at right back at Selhurst park ? Nah not for me but what do I know

Seems like needless mucking about. Stick to what works.

It's looking like one of those nights. A few good looks at goal and lacklustre finishing.

Few minutes injury time here. Obvious to say first goal is so so important. Eddie needs to have got one here we’d be all set. Terrible finish when put through by Rice so nicely.

He is tbf - all the more reason for him to cap it with a goal. Wrong decision then imo

Need a bit more from Havertz than we are seeing. Some of our play very predictable. Full backs, well square pegs in round holes.

Just not being adventurous enough either. You want to stick Zinchenko on but the idea of him against ayew doesn’t excite

All a bit too slow and predictable whilst Palace look dangerous on the break.

Not sure Kai Havertz adds enough to the team at the moment. Neat and tidy and obviously his height gives us an aerial option but you feel it needs to offer more to merit his place.

Feels like a game for Trossard's quick feet.

Yep, I’m going to be the first to say it. Xhaka gives us more, I do hope Havertz can find his groove.

Piss off Neville.

I see why we paid the money for Rice. I don't see why we paid the money for Havertz. It's 2 games so we'll see how it pays out.

It feels like we are asking for it the way we are defending. And Gabriel's presence is missed on our attacking set pieces.
