The player we could least afford to lose.

Its not a good situation but that is why we have backup players who are not total rubbish. They do sometimes step up too. Chris Wreh and Alex Maninge come to mind. Last season Liverpool did the same at the end of the season playing with a couple of backup defenders, if I remember correctly.

Spurs have also been known to choke.

You are right about that :1laughter:

Our bench today though. In no way is this acceptable for Arsenal football club

Subs: Leno, Holding, Ogungbo, Swanson, Elneny, Azeez, Smith Rowe, Hutchinson, Pépé

Bissouma, who we should have bought gets man of the match.

Credit to Brighton for beating both us and the spuds in consecutive away games.
Now let's make sure we step up at Southampton.

Good to see a proper left back utilised.
Glad Nketiah plays instead of Lacazette

Better energy from the team

15 minutes in, bit of a scrappy game and we're providing little threat to their goal.

Edit: Saka denied by a great save.

Saka should have just slammed it in. Why try a soft touch?

Shocking waste of a free kick in a dangerous position by Cédric.

Edit: and again.

Let someone else take them ffs.

Ridiculous free kick from soares

Can’t see where this is coming from. Our midfielders can’t move the ball quick enough

Any set piece from them is a danger with Ward-Prowse on the pitch.

*%^@* sake

I give in.

I’d drag nketiah off at halftime and bring on Pépé

We’re not doing much

Possibly or martinelli even if he doesn’t like playing there.

However you have it those two can interchange. I agree with the shout that SR is probably our most likely goal scorer anyway.

I have never seen anything remotely interesting about Nketiah. Of the typical strikers attributes he doesn't seem to have any of instinct, skill, intelligence, shooting ability or pace.
Pépé probably has skill and some shooting ability but little else and I think he'd be hopeless through the middle.

White jittery again. He has regressed so much.

Take 2 players out of our side and we are very average going forward. Granit and Lokonga need to impose themselves on this game

What's our formation with Cédric out and Emile Smith Rowe in?

Not buying a forward in the summer is haunting us

No established full backs in the side now. What's our formation now?

Is it me being bias, or is White losing almost every battle?

Going through that absolutely rotten combinations of opponents scoring with seemingly ever shot they have and ourselves missing any decent chance we have.
8 goals conceded from the last 14 on target
We’ve scored 2 from our last 65 efforts

MU just lost their 2 goal lead. It is 2-2 with Norwich now.

Good 11, a top 4 quality first 11 but zero depth and it seems to fall apart when every component doesn’t click. Which aligns with not being able to win games when we don’t play well.

To be honest I’m not sure many of the players we jettisoned in January make much of a difference
