The Nketiah foul on the gk was pure frustration for his lack of impact on the game

Jorginho caught twice on the ball now. Struggled to get the tempo of the fight

Maddison down injured. Nothing trivial I hope.

Exactly what Arteta hates. He wants control not chaos

We need to focus. Far too sloppy and lax.

Romero obviously booked.

Neville:

“was the Haverts or Jesus booked? Oh Romero.”

“The momentum of this game is clearly with the away team.”

He’s been on it all game. Please piss off.

Misused Jesus in this game for me. Eddie has been pretty woeful in truth.

Why has Jesus come off instead of Nketiah

Shambolic all over the place. Nketiah simply not good enough. Astonishing that he's still on the pitch.

I think of Trossard was fit we’d see a change.

Clear penalty. Why no check?

Udogie hand above his head and the ball hits it in the box. Not checked?

Sad to say we did not deserve to win this. Sloppy and our finishing was weak.

Just knew when merson opened his big gob that things would go wrong. Now multiple injuries and a stuttering mess.

That’s just so frustrating. No luck, (Martinelli, Trossard big misses and Rice off at half time) but no brains or finishing either. We’re going to be second this year at best looks like.

It’s a top 5 for the champions league, so at least momentum for the squad is good, but at this point Havertz looks a like a flop to me. I’m just going to say it. Poor buy for the money and it matters because he was supposed to be a big piece of this team.

You might say he’ll come good as I was waiting for, but we’re in the business of trying to win the title, not develop players for the future at the cost of that.

Club momentum a little checked from last season. So frustrating to see.

On this evidence, City will be out of sight shortly. A battle for top four looms. I know it's almost a hanging offence to criticise Arteta with some, but the failure to bring in a proven goalscorer is looking criminal. You would think it should have been a greater priority than getting a goalkeeper on loan or splashing 65 million on an ineffectual Chelsea reject.

Not a bad game for him, I thought.

Saliba and Gabs had good games. Saka on fire for the first half but you have to take him off when he's clearly knackered.

Surely Nelson has to start instead of Nketiah?

I hope Rice and Vieira's injuries are minor. :icon_eek1: :icon_eek1:

People may lament the lack of desire at the end but that midweek game looked like it told in the legs at the end of a 100mph game.

Finished with a front 3 of nelsen, Nketiah, esr- that’s at least 4 players out, plus Rice, plus Partey, plus Timber….it showed

Terrible performance.

Where was the energy and intensity. Spurs being allowed to play through us.

Nketiah was a complete passenger and should have been subbed off but the truth is, as Alan Smith said in commentary, we don't have a worldclass CF to lead the line.

Havertz won some balls in the air when he came on but he looks like a fish out of water in midfield.

Ødegaard just wasn't able to get on the ball.

I've been thinking it for a while but I think the explosiveness of last season has largely gone and we are too ponderous in possession.

I think we also saw the effects of midweek CL games, we lost control of the game in the 2nd half and looked leggy.

We are not challenging City any time soon playing like we did today.

Finally, Jesus has to score that chance to make it 2-0.

Why do players always get injured playing for Arsenal?. Rice barely missed a game for West Ham.

Too many disruptions to our prefered first 11 which started to result in a lack of composure. Plus the new manager bounce Sperz have at the moment meant we couldnt relax in the second half. The glaringly obvious missing peice in our team is a dominating striker. Eddie particularly just isnt at that level. No point getting too disappointed with the draw because we had a lot of players unavailable.

Arteta will be furious with the lack of control. For me we got drawn in to the chaos of the game and when we got it we wanted to go too quickly and too direct and didn’t build pressure.

Not many good performances. Also really disappointed how we didn’t get after their 3 on yellows a bit more.

God knows how Romero stayed on the pitch. He had the standard early one through the back of a striker, handball to stop a shot near the line and a grab of Jesus that eventually got him a card.

As anonymous as Nketiah and Vieira were and will get stick for, Ødegaard had his worst game for a long time

That's why you don't wait until the 96th minute to bring on Emile Smith Rowe, surely?

Not a good day at the office for Arteta.

3 games in 8 days
NLD
It was always a bit of a banana skin
Jesus should have put us two up when he robbed Madison and Jorginho’s error killed the momentum after we go in front
We looked tired at the end but kept going …although they always worried me on the break
Rest them all against Brentford and try to ick it up again next week against Bournemouth

Our injury issues are puzzling.

We've already lost Timber for most of the season, Jesus just back from injury, Partey out for a sustained period, Martinelli out for a while, possibly Trossard too and now Rice and Vieira.

If Arteta didn’t think Jesus could last the 90 then Havertz at CF would have made much more sense.

In slight defence of it though if he’d had Martinelli and Trossard and didn’t have other players coming off injuries he’d have had more choice.

Jesus still looked the most likely way we’d score, he’s dangerous from the left but better as a striker. I’d have rather seen Nelsen start left wing and Jesus striker

Scary isn’t it
Not out of September and we look a touch stretched squad wise
Was Rice injured? Commentary over here wasn’t sure and thought he was fuming on the bench

I agree Rich, take Nketiah off and put Jesus down the middle with Nelson wide.

Nketiah has looked way off the last couple of games he's played.

Spurs got us at a great time. After a midweek match when they had a full weeks rest and numerous injuries before, in the build up and during the game.

Injuries are a real worry.

I want us to go for all 4 comps this year but these injuries mean we need to go full reserves and youth v Brentford in the league cup. Anyone even close to starting the City game shouldn’t be anywhere near the pitch.

How nice for City to have Forest at home after their European game :8angers:
