I don't know if how are playing is by design by Arteta or the players are just overly cautious.

Broken the run at OT. That’s pretty big tbh. The nods towards the tentative performance and that it starts from the manager have some merit I think, and days like this is experience and winning history in the bank.

We are needlessly making this game more difficult than it need be.

How did we make such hard work of that? Feck me. I'm knackered. Well, we've taken it to the last day.....which is brilliant.

Were you expecting to beat them easily? We've won at Old Trafford that wasn't a given despite all the pundits black and white predictions. Playing under pressure is about dealing with the nervy moments. It's certainly easier when you are the best team under the best coach who have already won the league 3 times in a row. We have taken them to the last game of the season that is a remarkable feat and it's all down to the manager (& his deadball coach):58big-emoticons:

Largely agree. I do however have some questions about the performance :laughing7:

Arteta came in this game scared. We played scared. Yes, I'm happy with the win but we could have won this game easily 3 or 4 nil and if City drops points with a draw, that goal differential could be gone on the last day.

Must be hard to know how to feel as a Utd fan. Was this.. encouraging for them? Disappointing? An improvement? Green shoots of recovery? More of the same? The final straw? I hope this is the worst way possible for them to lose, but I’m not sure.

We made that game much harder than it need be. I sound ungrateful for a win. I didn't think we'd get a win actually to be honest. But when I saw how poor Man Utd were they were there for the taking. And could have put some distance in that goal differential. Oh well, I'll be quiet and take the win. We won at Old Trafford, first time in 4 years in the league.

Now for Pool to beat Villa, so Spurs will still be in it for Top 4.

From Utd Reddit:

I'm honestly quite happy after watching that game. We dominated and were very unlucky that we couldn't get one. Night and day compared to palace.

Ngl even I'm not mad at all, just a bit disappointed
We probably should throw off everything for City anyways. Europe qualification thru EPL has been dead since our draw to Liverpool”

“In 98 when Arsenal beat us 1-0 at home I was heartbroken. Today, I’m relieved. At least it wasn’t a thrashing and there’s still a chance City don’t win the title.

Not representative of all Utd fans by any means but lots of these comments.

Yeah. We could easily have had a second, and United weren't really much of a threat, especially in the second half.

Also, the team clearly believe we can defend a lead, even if the supporter still remember when we couldn't.

XG very much in our favour.

Schmeichel saying United look uncoached. Very true.

The fan who thinks they dominated is deluded as their coach.

On reflection, this game aside, I'm so proud of this side. We push City to the final game. City are no worse than the 2nd best club in the world right now. 27 wins, a club record. City are scared because we are only going to be better next season. I will continue to say, Timber will be huge for us. If we get it a Tielsmann type player we are in serious business. We may not even need a number 9. I'd like one but its not the end of the world if we don't. Left back and a number 6 and we're scarier.

I heard a Man Utd fan on the internet say we beat them and we didn't even try hard.

Tentative performance but we had enough to win at old Trafford. Shows how far we’ve come that we’re slightly disappointed we didn’t do better than a 1-0 win away to Man U.

Whatever happens this has been a phenomenal effort this season, a year on from when so many told us we’d be lucky to be fighting for top 4 and last year was our only chance. To take City to the last day, rookie manager, one of the youngest squads in the league still. Hugely proud of this team.

Can still pray for a miracle. Next year I’m sure we push hard for the title again and we won’t be favourites and we’ll need to go 90 points to probably win it….so, I feel we need to go hard at the cups. Get some trophies on board, hopefully have some better luck with some easier draws. Need to add to the squad and plan for 60 games next season
