AG Sorry mate but this is inside your head. Nobody is a troll.

You’ve blocked 80% of the forum about minor disagreements but you’ve been here for 2 decades. The best thing for you to do would be to unblock everyone and have a clean slate.

You have Ash myself and mquilkie all on ignore. How many posters actually can read what you say. It must be rambling off into the ether half the time.

We're looking to fill 3 positions presumably. Midfielder, left back and a striker. A striker has to be the lowest priority. For me, if we can only fill one position with a top player its midfield.

Yes, I don't really know what the fuss is about. People argue on this forum pretty regularly - me included. (You and I have had our disagreements, TG, without either of us thinking it's a blood feud.) I've never trolled anyone, though. I'm too lazy, for a start.

For some reason I'm not blocked.

Haven't paid attention to the Euros and was marginally surprised to hear from a friend that England is one of if not the favorites.

I've always felt watching England they seem to play with a fear of what the press and the people will say. British football leagues have always been direct, aggressive. But the national team didn't play that way in my view. Now we have an England team with technical skills to rival the continent when it didn't have as much prior.

I hope they play without the fear of losing but with a belief it's theirs. I'd like to see them play games with a less physical version of the NLD or a Liverpool v Man Utd derby.

Havertz scored as Germany takes a commanding 3-0 lead against Scotland. Germany totally dominant. And now a second half against a 10-man Scotland. Musiala is a fantastic player. Wish he is an Arsenal player. Think he will be the next Ronaldo/Messi status player.

Havertz with a goal (PK) and an assist. This is great for his continued confidence. With the form he was in the 2nd half of the season, I still felt he still wasn't fully confident. A number 9 is supposed to have a swag and a visible confidence about them. Havertz isn't there yet.

My only fear about the Euros for him is 1. he avoids injuries and 2. assuming Germany goes deep into the competition he will lose his legs earlier than we need him to deep into the season.

Very sad. I was at Highbury when he scored his first hatrick. Seemed like a really nice fella in any interviews.

RIP.

It’s *%^@*** amazing that Ozzy Osborne can spend 75 years off his head on booze and drugs, eating bats and biting the heads off doves and still make 75 yet you have professional sports people dying in their 40s and 50s.

We’ve all got a date folks and there’s nothing you can do about it is there ? (Well you can avoid eating bats but you get what I mean)

RIP Super Kev. I was lucky enough to have seen him score many an Arsenal goal but I’ll always remember him scoring against PSG in the semi final at Highbury just as I was stumbling around, trying to find my seat.

Another goal and assist for Havertz last night.

No matter what you say about the guy and he will divide opinion there’s no doubt from a productivity perspective he delivers. Scores assists, makes the whole team better. I don’t think there’s a chance a striker will come in.

The story of Hamburg's FC Pauli is a bit fascinating. They have German-Swiss American coach who took over at 29 years old and won promotion after 31 years. They play a type of total football. Never before seen.

Spain looking ominous! First I’ve really looked at Yamal - real deal. His balance and touch are really impressive. I cannot believe he’s doing this at SIXTEEN.

I think there might if a development opportunity arises. Šesko was seen as that I think, but rightly best thing for his development for him to stay and be starter.

But I agree, Havertz playing like this is, not quite Berkampesqe, more like a Berbatov-Giroud mash up. A fit and firing Martinelli should thrive with someone like Havertz up front. Hope we can get him back on track and get another winger who can fill in either side. Links to Nico Williams today (42M release clause) and I was keen on that til I’ve started looking longingly at what Yamal is doing… :1laughter:

Devastated to hear the very sad passing of Kevin Campbell.
Appreciating what a great striker he was for us but beyond that he just came across as such a lovely jovial respectful guy. Loved listening to him.
Touched a lot of people during his life if the amount of callers ringing in to pay their respects and give little stories of when they met King Kev and how much of a lovely gentle man he was.
R.I.P Kev.
I'm the same age as him so especially hit me hard. 54 really is no age.

The commentator or rather the AI generated voice calls this the saddest Euro ever because so many legends will be playing their last Euros. I agree that it is going to be the last time we see so many but new ones arise all the time.

I will be fortunate to tell young folks I was alive to see Messi, and both Ronaldos in their prime. And I have seen both Maradona and Pele both play but I was both too young and too ignorant of its significance to say that I saw them.

I think there will be another Messi and Ronaldo so to speak. No one thought they'd see the likes of Pele and Maradona as well as a host of other superb stars in the '70s, 80s as well.

Either Saka or Dec could’ve been MOTM but it went to the goal scorer Bellingham - who also excelled. Good first half but England were reassuringly *%^@ in the second. Clueless. Lumping the ball forward. Gallagher - who came on for Saka - is a headless chicken. Have to ask questions about the management.

That's a bit unfair. I reckon he'd go for 10 fullbacks. He managed to get 3 into the starting line-up tonight.

Good win for England. Objectively they were rarely troubled by Serbia, who are technically adept, physically strong and probably the biggest danger to us in the group. Bellingham is clearly a special one, but big shouts too for Rice, Saka and Trippier.

Trent isn’t a midfielder and Foden doesn’t make sense in the first 11. Should be Gordon.

He won’t change it and England will go out in the semis

I would be genuinely interested to hear your opinion and thoughts on all sorts of Arsenal related stuff because your opinions clearly differ from mine quite a lot. But just saying ‘you’re an idiot and you’re wrong’ feels like the opposite of what this forum is supposed to do.

You are trying to reason with someone who probably thinks Anne Frank “made a meal of it”

:1laughter:

True, but it's refreshing to see such a dignified and reasonable response nonetheless... especially juxtaposed against AG's squealing and imagining that anyone who disagrees with him is a troll.

Loads of talent all over the pitch but if England crash out earlier than expected, the blame might fall in large part on Southgate. Certain players will be blamed. I've seen enough of the English press and fan sites over the years to know there has to be a sacrificial lamb or lambs.

On paper, the easiest Euros for England in some time. But it just seems like a set up to have them as favorites. I see the logic in it, on paper, but Southgate is no tactical genius and I think Englands success is going to be in large to part to players taking chances, moving out of roles, etc if an opportunity arises.

I don't expect that to happen because in the back of their mind they will fear getting skewered in the press over it. We've already seen evidence of the press playing games after the pre Euro loss. This might be Southgate's last Euro. I'm guessing one of the most amazing feats in English football is how Southgate managed to keep his job for 8 years. He's equaled Bobby Robson's tenure and is only a few years from Alf Ramsey. How did he do it? Planets align with Southgate getting the best English players as a collective since the '90s.

I've always heard Arsenal's firms were of any significance when it comes to hooliganism. This is a bit surprising since we are clearly the biggest club in the city and one of the top 3 in all of England.

Someone called me a name or whatever and he thought it was him. Maybe he got a PM or whatever as to why. He changed is name to Ash and all of a sudden he joined the trolling gang. At least with exiled and the rest we actually exchanged angry words. Ash and I never did (come to think about neither did mcquilkie and I but my memory is rusty) but he trolled. The sad fact is every time you come on you know this. And you know there is nothing you can do about my presence. Ever. (as long as I don't break forum rules) I get a sadistic joy over this fact. Would it be helpful to point out that when swearing on someone's grave, it is redundant to add that they are deceased?
