Porto have so many technical infringements never carded. Stopping a quick free kick, kicking the ball away, asking for yellow cards. Ref has let them do what they want in that regard |

Thank god we don’t have a prem game this weekend. That 120 mins plus the shootout must have been so physically and mentally draining. But the mental strength of those players in the shootout, all 4 of our takers gave the gk no chance, sent him the wrong way on every kick. Then Raya saves 2 and nearly a 3rd In to the QF draw with City, Real Madrid, PSG, Barca, Bayern - this is where we want to be. All quality teams but we wo not face Porto like tactics from any of those. Let’s see us go head to head with a serious competitive team against a European heavyweight. Feels like I’ve waited 20 years to go in to a CL QF feeling like we really belong |

I think Raya got the MOTM officially which no doubt he deserves as the match winner….but for me the player who really stood up to be counted tonight was Ødegaard. He was top class, driving the team on, I’d be amazed if he didn’t cover the most ground of any player - then wins both flops of the coin to get the shootout at our end and to go first - then sticks the first pen away. Actually I reckon in a way it could be viewed as a better way to win it than putting 4 goals past them . Penalty shoot outs always a nervy squeaky bum time and we passed with flying colours . In the last two games we faced very well organised time wasting outfits and we've triumphed over both ; whereas a year back we'd have drawn with Brentford and lost this one ........ bottlers no more . Valuable experience that little wank Jamie O Hara who was so ecstatic when we lost the first leg must be a slobbering mess . |

A huge lesson for us in European knock out football. I’m sure the team didn’t underestimate Porto as much as the fans and the media but they will have learned that it’s so hard to dominate these games, you don’t get many chances, its a game of chess. |

Loved how their manager and their players were a bit petulant at the end. Their manager refused to shake Arteta’s hand at the end. Part of me admires Porto’s wily, experienced play but a much bigger part of me will say a big F off to them. You kicked, snarled, play acted, time wasted, played the ref t he ligh every minute and then their manager threw their toys out of his pram at the end. When you beat teams like this it makes it sweeter |

Agreed. Barca for me. We're in the last 8 so we should be confident of beating anyone. Watching City against Liverpool we could well beat them. If this team play to their optimum we have a chance to beat any of the remaining 7 other teams. |

Conceicao accused Arteta of insulting him, which is why he didn’t shake his hand at full time. By pure coincidence Conceicao also accused Pep of insulting him when City knocked Porto out in 2020…..and accused Tuchel of insulting him when Chelsea knocked them out in 2021….just a coincidence though so hardly relevant
