Hanging around waiting for my flight home from Hols. Flick on bbc sport and oh yes that’s quality. 2 games, 6 points and 6 goals from 2 banana skin fixtures. Honestly you can’t fault that. Good feeling around Arsenal right now and all of a sudden it’s a bit more fun to be an Arsenal supporter. Incredibly the man United fixture can’t come soon enough right now. Arteta spoke about the fans and their reaction after Saliba scored the own goal, the fans cheered him and Arteta said he’d never seen anything like it before and it hugely helped Saliba. The fans have Tielemans a big cheer when he was subbed, he must want the move I’m sure, so that would have been great for him. |

De Gea is finished as a top level GK. He can’t play with his feet - at all! And he stays on his line all the time, it puts his defence under pressure from corners, free kicks and crosses. He has a tendency to go with his feet rather than his hands which also costs goals and doesn’t retain possession. |

It wasn’t that long ago that so many turning out for us didn’t feel like ‘us’ at all. Now they certainly do. |

You can’t have so many passengers without the ball in the modern game. Ronaldo, Sancho, rashford, Fernandes. Not one of them offers anything without the ball. For all that Sancho did in Germany there is a reason Southgate picks Saka so consistently for England. Eriksen does run but it’s pointless on your own. Fred is nominally the holding mid but he’s bang average - there are at least 20 CM I’d have ahead of him. And Maguire is not good enough for a top team. There is a clip of Merson laughing at them signing him for £80m because he was good in a 3 and defending his own box….he said you play in a 3 if you’re not trusted. But play for Man U and you’re up on the half way line and Maguire gets done all the time. Just weak, soft and average all over the pitch. I love it |
