I’ve checked the ages of the Spurs squad. There are a couple of people who could also fit the profile. 3am - wouldn’t happen here unless they were a security threat. Mind you the police wouldn’t cough up overtime for such a raid in most Aust jurisdictions. |

So now it’s being reported that the alleged player being accused did travel yesterday and is with the squad. This would make it unlikely to be him if it was reported he was in custody. If I was him I’d seriously lawyer up, defamation suits everywhere |

If I was him I’d seriously lawyer up, defamation suits everywhere Yeah, I think it's best not to speculate at all with the little amount of info we have, and the way people have been running away with this is pretty damn distasteful. Forget about innocent until proven guilty, we now have players being labeled as a rapist when we don't even know if they've been accused of anything. |

This also calls into question the way the media handles these matters. There is no reason to publicise information such as the exact age of the player, or the fact that he's "internationally renowned". All it does is throw a bunch of people who fit the description but are innocent into a story about a terrible crime they had nothing to do with, and fuel speculation on social media. Extremely irresponsible journalism in my book. |

I know I looked up which Arsenal and Tottenham players are 29 and will play in the World Cup, as well as giving a link to a source saying Davies lives in Barnet and naming him in the headline. But I hope I didn’t go overboard in my previous two posts on the issue. |

Generally Arsenal players do often tend to live in the Barnet area. Wenger himself was at Totteridge lane Spurs players more so round Enfield way historically If I was a footballer I’d want as far away from London as possible personally but there you go |

But I’m less sure that applies so much to where players live. Basically the two clubs grounds and training pitches are so close to each other, and Barnet and Enfield as London boroughs border each other, I think it’s a bit simplistic to generalise like that. Even by using the term ‘historically’. My dad showed me where Don Howe lived and it was Winchmore Hill, in the Borough of Enfield. Decades ago I used to go to a pub in Winchmore Hill called the Chase Side Tavern. Liam Brady was often there, sometimes with some Arsenal team mates. |

Oh my. PREM STAR 'RAPIST' Premier League international re-arrested on suspicion of two more rapes against different woman https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19099385 ... g-woman-2/ A PREMIER League international footballer arrested on suspicion of rape has been re-arrested for two more attacks against different women. The player, who is in his late 20s and is due to play at the World Cup in Qatar in November, was detained yesterday after six police cars swooped on a North London address. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/20 ... e-attacks/ I have a feeling that it's not an Arsenal player. Could be wrong of course but just a feeling. |

Extremely irresponsible journalism in my book. Spot-on Haz, Its one of the worst aspects of twitter and social media in general. Rumours, speculation and outright lies are spread around the world in seconds and there is no accountability. People reputations are being tarnished, often irrepairably, based on nothing more than heresay, misinformation and quite often spite, jealousy, racism and, when it comes to football players, tribalism. Its basically trial by social media. Whatever did happen to innocent until proven guilty, presumably it doesn't apply on twitter or twatter as it perhaps should be called. |

I’ve always found it important to be Frank and Ernest with women. In Enfield I’m frank and in Barnet I’m Ernest usually. Joking aside I’ve got a daughter and if she made a complaint like this there wouldn’t be a trial by social media as I’d have cut the blokes arms and legs off. Stumpy would have more than a slight issue with his cross field passes trust me. If this turns out to be true I hope the club take the hardest line possible. |

Club policy is one thing but the manager himself strikes me as one who would also tool up to take a hard line. |

If we had a forward with that strike rate we'd have to pay 30m for a club to take him. It's one area where we just need to improve massively - looking at players we want to sell and what they "should" be worth, we should be getting 30-40m at least for Guendouzi. AMN should've been sold for 20m. Mavropanos 10-15. That's basically the Raphinha fee right there. |

Edu and MA have to figure this out a bit sharpish I really like Bissouma, but I woul've signed him as a Partner for Partey - not a replacement. Hasn't got the skills and the passing range to do what Partey does, he's more of a pure defensive midfielder for me. I think we need someone in the no 6 role who is not only defensively sound but who can move the ball, and most importantly is press resistant. Who that player is, I'm not sure, but it feels like we need two new central midfielders now, and Tielemans seems like a logical option as one of them. |

Bissouma?…he’s gone maybe Ndidi from Leicester. JWP from the Saints? Edu and MA have to figure this out a bit sharpish Feels a bit wrong to comment on the footballing consequences however life goes on and I’ve already paid for my season ticket ! I’d say it would be a massive loss. He’s the only midfielder we have who can play on the half turn and receive the ball and beat the press. The other players aren’t confident in this. Also his distribution is way more incisive than what we have with others. Everytime he gets injured we’ve missed him terribly. Also in addition to this none of the players we’ve been linked with seem obvious replacements for me. Tielemans , savic ? He has the right blend of technical ability, pace and brawn we haven’t seen in a while. If it’s true Arteta will be fuming. The player seemed central to our rebuild. You will need to recruit but who isn’t obvious to me. Likely someone from leftfield in the french or Italian leagues |

Almost certainly way higher than the equivalent Spurs reserve. Unless the player is willing to take a pay cut it drastically limits the selection of clubs we can sell to for a fee, and that limited pool of clubs are elite and don’t want our cast offs. |

Agree with those posting about the Partey issue on purely football terms. Before all this happened I posted he was the most important player in the squad as he was really the only one without a natural replacement or his replacement was such a huge drop off in skill level. If Partey is out then we have 3 options Sign a top class replacement - this could be £60m+ Go with Elneny and Lokonga! Change the system to a double pivot rather than a lone 6 The central mids we’ve been linked with are not Partey type players, none of them play the line 6 role. They can play in a double pivot. I don’t really know any available players for a reasonable price who replace Partey. Equivalent in the league are Rodri and Fabinho I don’t think many teams even play a lone 6 because it is such a difficult role |
