This also calls into question the way the media handles these matters. There is no reason to publicise information such as the exact age of the player, or the fact that he's "internationally renowned". All it does is throw a bunch of people who fit the description but are innocent into a story about a terrible crime they had nothing to do with, and fuel speculation on social media. Extremely irresponsible journalism in my book.

Feels a bit wrong to comment on the footballing consequences however life goes on and I’ve already paid for my season ticket !

I’d say it would be a massive loss. He’s the only midfielder we have who can play on the half turn and receive the ball and beat the press. The other players aren’t confident in this. Also his distribution is way more incisive than what we have with others. Everytime he gets injured we’ve missed him terribly.

Also in addition to this none of the players we’ve been linked with seem obvious replacements for me. Tielemans , savic ? He has the right blend of technical ability, pace and brawn we haven’t seen in a while.

If it’s true Arteta will be fuming. The player seemed central to our rebuild. You will need to recruit but who isn’t obvious to me. Likely someone from leftfield in the french or Italian leagues

It's one area where we just need to improve massively - looking at players we want to sell and what they "should" be worth, we should be getting 30-40m at least for Guendouzi. AMN should've been sold for 20m. Mavropanos 10-15. That's basically the Raphinha fee right there.
