Dominate the game, make a mistake and concede. I feel like every goal we concede at the moment is a shocking error from us

We do have an extensive back catalogue of daft goals conceded.

We stopped trying to score in earnest after our goal. Support for any penetration has been gone wanting for someone to make runs into the box.

Xhaka looked up before the pass but his weaker foot and where the target did him in. Ill advised pass, things happen.

Xhaka has to take a touch he can never hit it first time.

Leno will get some grief now but that should be to row z or to his left. Not really a hospital pass

I swear that the pitch is getting worse as the match progresses. Truly awful and difficult to play on.

Nobody will blame Leno, that's 100% on Xhaka.

Why is Leno playing that pass in to Xhaka and why isn’t Xhaka just playing the ball first time?! If you’re running in to your own box with a player right behind you, you do not have time to take a touch it’s just inviting totally unnecessary pressure.

Individual errors time and time again

It's deliberate, it wasn't watered before kick off.

I'm expecting us to press the issue after the break since we didn't after the goal.

Cruising quite comfortably until we gave them the goal, which gave them some momentum back. We should still have enough to win this comfortably though, need to really go at them in the second half when they start getting tired.

I always wonder what the players of Burnley feel about this, especially those like McNeil and Gudmundsson who are technical players. Maybe the attitude is win at all costs, and gain every advantage even if it ruins my own natural game and reputation.

That's it Luiz, slow it right down and give Burnley a chance to set.

Ironic really. About five minutes before the howler I had been reflecting on Xhaka. I was thinking that he had become much more reliable, reading the game well and operating as a safe pair of hands. Oh well.

I actually felt sorry for him. He was clearly distraught.

We all know what he is and isn’t. He’s very good at some things but is slow and ponderous and takes too many touches.

As soon as he looks convincing you get a reminder

"Yes, you can be offside from a backwards pass. If the recieving player is in an offside position when the pass is played, the direction of the pass is irrelevant"

Overall, I think Partey’s made quite a slow start at Arsenal. Considering his reputation I was expecting a bit more. Having said that I’m confident he will turn things round and become a fine signing.

Not understanding that. Surely he could only be offside if a Burnley player had passed to him.

We are so good at making life difficult for ourselves. Totally dominant, a goal up, now involved in a scrappy second half against a team of journeyman who could quite easily nick a winner.

Indeed. You can't be offside if the other team is in possession, surely?

Ødegaard did decently. He harried their back line when we didn't have possession. I'm hoping he does better and better. Could be a good one. But I can see that RM was too big of a club in terms of what they are looking for from him.

Heck. You’re right. He’s just done another one. Just what we need is to go down to 10. He needs to come off now.

It's on Leno. Why not put your foot through it? He saw the Burnley player behind Xhaka. Sometimes passing it out is Not the right thing to do. Nothing bad happens if you bott the ball into their half.
