The guy on the far side of this image is the guy the ball is flicked to and who crosses it for the goal. This has to be offside no?

The wheels are coming off. Lose to City and I can see city and Manure catching us.

When will refs ever give the proper time added on and keep adding time on for ridiculous tactical time wasting in injury time. 5 minutes added time was not enough and then we probably only played 2 minutes of football in that 5 minutes. It is pathetic how refs continue to let time wasting go unpunished. I thought the World Cup showed the way

Terrible free kick by Vieira
Really poor
Our last chance to win it and he messes it up so badly

From that angle that’s impossible to tell.

The Var official looked at the wrong phase?

Brentford had the same plan as Everton in the second half

The Var official looked at the wrong phase?

Yes they showed it again and Matt Upson highlighted the next phase and ,albeit marginally, he was off
The damage was done earlier with Saliba giving away the free kick.

More points dropped because we cant find our way past a low block.

Not sure what the answer is.

Plus, a weakness of Saliba's defending is that he struggles to get off the ground from a standing jump. He should have cleated the ball in the lead up to the goal, which actually looked like it should have been disallowed for offside.

Personally, I think we move Zinchenko into midfield, play Tierney at LB and get some overlaps down the left side again.

He being the guy who knocked it past Ramsdale for Toney to score

He was average to poor. Nothing on any single one of his passes. Time ticking for him, I’m not seeing so far, obviously still early, but but if I was a betting man(like Ivan Toney) my money would be in him not making it.

Speaking of that limping *%^@ him and Brentford are the *%^@*** kings of gamesmanship, Toney pinning Saliba behind his back and going down. I don’t think it’s clever from Brentford, you aren’t being innovative at football involving football skill, you’re just thinking how can we get away with cheating here. *%^@.s.

I’ll never get over watching the guy with his arms clamped around Leno, and just the *%^@*** narrative of little battling Brentford meant it was allowed.

From that angle that’s impossible to tell.

Of course we need the square on angle but even just looking at the relative distances from the 6 yard line he looks off. If it’s true that the var ref didn’t even check that part then it’s pretty astonishing

Yeah fair, when it’s close it can seem like you’re asking for margins to save the game for you, but that’s literally what VAR is there for, if it’s off it’s off, we aren’t asking for anything extraordinary.

Luck not with us today. You need it to go for you if you aren’t putting teams away, which we aren’t.

Forget about borderline VAR decisions. They created more chances than us and overall should have won. That is troubling.

Our defending against the high balls into the box is something other teams will be noting with some interest.

We could do with a Toney or Calvert Lewin.

That is true about the first half, but I thought we were comfortably better in the second half. The goal was a poor one to concede. Dodgy free kick (Toney had his arms around Saliba) then unable to clear our lines.

Which is why I’ve never understood the argument of ‘we didn’t deserve to win anyway’ or ‘we should have won without relying on refs decisions’

Go back and look at the penalty Man City ‘won’ in the 95th minute to beat Fulham 2-1 earlier this season….

I'm glad they didn't look too hard at the Nketiah handball shout at the end ... looked iffy!
