It is certainly a difficult one. Football has huge influence so in many ways it is right to tackle various issues and has made some big leaps forward in many areas. But perhaps the promotion of any cause should be 'forced' on the clubs rather than individuals. I find with these sorts of things that any good intentions can end up causing so much bother because you can't plan for or foresee how various people will react, and then you have to make a decision which will lead to you having to make more decisions and somehow by your actions and decisions will fall in to being the judge of what is right or wrong and what people must say or think, even if that was never your role or intention. My making it a club thing rather than an individual you won't have to face these political hot potato decisions.
I have been watching football since the 1950s, and unbelievable as it may sound, for the vast majority of that time was entranced by the game, almost certainly because the governing body, clubs and their employees rarely took up social or political causes.

Cross the white wash wearing the Jersey stand up straight and play football. Leave politics and causes out.

What I wouldn't give for not only a win but a thorough trouncing, a 6-0, something to get them back for the 6-1 and 8-2, we've beaten them plenty of times but never really put a hatful past them. I'd absolutely take a 1-0 but I feel if we're on it and get a fast start, swarm all over them and get the early goal we could take them apart. They have pace up top but central midfield and central defence is woefully one pacey and immobile for them.

Exactly. It is as good an opportunity as we've had for a while to really hurt them. The 1-0 that ended the invincible run smarts as much as those heavy defeats.

But three points any old how will do!

On the whole, I can't say I really disagree. Ensuring fans and players don't engage in bigoted behaviour should be enough. Forcing a particular corporate morality feels wrong and often hypocritical.

Big test

No big gab.

Kiwior and Zinchenko come in

Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Partey, Rice, Ødegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Havertz.
Subs: Neto, Tierney, Heaven, Jorginho, Merino, Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling, Jesus.

No Gabriel and Calafiori, Kiwior and Zinchenko in to replace them.

Partey back int he 11. Tierney could easily get minutes here, he's the only senior defender on the bench.

What luck to miss Gabriel for a crucial period v Liverpool and now for a big game v Man U. Calafiori just can't get a run of games together.

When were we last able to pick a consistent 11 for at least 3 games in a row

Frame away Ash :laughing7: Believe it or not I actually do. I think training kits based on sexual preferences are a touch too far. Enjoy the sport and I’ll stick it where I want thanks :laughing7:

He can go back to the usual normal opinions now yunno stuff like wanting the execution of midgets because they all make him feel sad. All healthy stuff obviously

Trying to think what the options were to avoid playing Zinchenko

I suppose Partey right, timber left and Jorginho comes in.

Must have been a close call that one. I’d have been tempted to do the latter.

Gordon missed a 1v1 now. Newcastle should be out of sight.
Liverpool’s errors and poor play not being punished. Lucky to be just 1-0

Big chance for Oartey from a corner. Hits his shoulder from 2 yards out

Oof Martinelli. I would have backed Trossard to get that on target

Mount lucky to escape a yellow there. Let’s see that leniency when it’s one of ours

Bit frustrating so far. Martinelli just makes me feel he’ll miss chances or moves break down through him. Such a drop off. Have to hope a chance drops to the right person.

If we’re choosing who we can smash without getting a yellow can I nominate Bruno Fernandes. :icon_mrgreen1:

Their plan seems to heavily involve deny all space and time for Ødegaard. Which is sensible really.

Newcastle 2-1 up on 62 minutes. I’m finding it all a bit stressful. We struggling to break them down really. Push or patience? Probably stay patient atm.

The ref isn’t…
Garnacho clearly faking an injury to break up the play…

Im not there tonight but I have to say I find it much harder to watch the lads on the tv. Our centre backs seem so far up the pitch when we are trying to break down their block and I do stress they are going to get caught on the ball :laughing7:

Patience, there isn’t an obvious change probably only Leo or Ethan as energy subs.

I feel we're not being aggressive enough, Man U are having easy possession out from the back, they've played conservatively which has meant their wing backs are always available as the out ball. Our full backs seem reluctant to push on tight to their wing backs because of the dual 10 threat of Bruno and Garnacho.

Tempo needs to be upped, Ødegaard can't get on the ball.

Loose from Partey there, he’s been off it tonight, not many look really up for it. That was awful from Martinelli, Trossard on soon
