Gone into our our shell a bit, expected a bit playing against 12 men for most of the game. Tierney on now.

Instep above the ankle? More circus freak anatomy.

Havertz looks to have done his hamstring, did anyone see him holding it at full time?

That was horrible. Martinelli puts in the cross that ultimately is headed back and Califiori scored from, but I found his play so frustrating today. Right when we put him on a new contract we invested in his ability and potential and he really hasn’t delivered consistently or convincingly since. Even before all the injuries and Saka out it was a problem for the team.

There was contact above the ankle. No studs above the ankle.

It wasn't a dangerous or violent foul.

10 men for more than a half and only two subs.

Why not bring Sterling on at 1-0 for fresh legs?

On BBC i have just heard the most scathing commentary on the refereeing and VAR.

Shearer said 'worst decision I've seen in a long while'

Presumably because he’s been so bad, particularly in his defensive work.

Jorginho is the only player left on the bench I’d consider bringing on in that situation, partly because the rest are mostly left backs!

We needed Havertz for his aerial prowess so we had an outball

This irony of the whole thing. Havertz has been recently lambasted for not being good enough but is our top goalscorer, one of our hardest working players and is bailing the club out for not investing in certain areas. Imagine how the guy feels. He deserves credit

He really is an asset no matter what happens in the transfer market in he future

Joelinton AGAIN getting away with poor tackles. To be refereed differently and so often so leniently is outrageous, you’d think the most experienced ref in the country might just support his team or something

Chapman talks no about how PGMOL will ‘spin the justification’ is telling, proper football fans willing to be objective know the PGMOL is not fit for purpose. The only support they have is from rival fans who are happy a rival has been screwed over - it’s probably the biggest barrier to change currently

Arteta superb in the post match.
Praised the boys. When asked to comment on the red he said it’s obvious, he’s fuming but he can let others have their say because it’s so obvious. Asked if we will appeal he said it’s a club decision and said we shouldn’t even have to appeal

These refs are inept. Clear red card Joelinton. As I said earlier the bias is influencing hugely as certain clubs are refereed differently.

He is, as I was saying earlier. He makes a nuisance of himself. One just has to cast one's mind back to Nketiah to realise that Havertz is not bad.

He was good during the week.

To be honest I acknowledge his inconsistency but it’s very hard to judge players for me when it’s down to 10.

I don’t think we really have the best group of players for tackling when we go a man down. Seems the wrong blend

The only thing close is the van persie red in the nou camp. Honourable mention for the Declan red and paul Durkin itching to send Manu Pettit off,

*%^@ off oliver you bent *%^@

I will Michael Oliver's double yellow in the same play

For me no. That’s poor reffing but 2 fouls had been committed and whilst it’s utter unparalleled nonsense it just didn’t kick the same way he unloaded a straight red on an 18 year old for a trip on the edge of the opposition box.

If they don’t over turn the ban they will look complete twats but if it’s down to Arsenal then frankly at this point they should appeal even if it makes it worse. It’s dire

They have to appeal. There is no point not pissing off these wankers, they hate us and we cannot be silent anymore as a club. PGMOL needs outing.

Bruno Fernandes had his straight red v spurs overturned for a much worse tackle. His was a deliberate trip, lunging in at knee high.

If its not overturned it just shows the bias even more

Thing is Arteta has called out PGMOL now so they need to make a decision and you know what they are going to double down. Then it’s back on us. If that happens we have to appeal

Truly Orwelliian from PGMOL and cronies. Dean, Gallagher et al are wherled out. They spout incoherent inconsistent poppycock to defend their jobs and their mates.

Refereeing is fcked in England. PGMOL needs root and branch reform with independent oversight.

Of course it’s already started.
The thing for me is these ex refs need to get called out, properly challenge them when they try to justify these decisions ask them to show any example of this same decision also being a red card….or show them thousands of same incidents where only a yellow was given and ask them why this was the outlier?

Always the outlier. Serious questions HAVE to be asked and answers HAVE to be given

Newcastle under the radar again. VAR giving them a way back into a game at 1 nil down. Very dodgy.

It wasn't for a trip on the edge of the box. It was for serious foul play, namely a dangerous tackle. His studs did catch Doherty but it should have been a booking, no more. Mike Dean said yellow, so if he wouldn't have given a red, it's definitely not one. This nonsense of VAR not intervening is appalling.

Oh, and Michael Oliver is a %&*#

It's fkin astonishing. Remember when he gave Kovacic one yellow card for two appalling tackles at the Emirates?

Useless biased dick.

Thing is by all means call it serious foul play but watch it again. He makes the decision in literally 3 seconds from the foul and it is a break. It looks impulsive.

If they released the audio and it shows something pre red that it’s discussed maybe I’d believe it. It’s re writing what happened. He thinks it’s a last man decision and got it all wrong.

One thing that is amazing though are that Calafioris goal celebrations are easily the best at the club and the reason why people watch football.

Mediterranean heart felt passion, fist pumping, pointing at the badge, screaming whilst being held back by the manager and coaching staff. Look at the pictures glorious. Reminds me of nutty winterburns goal celebrations which were usually worth the admission price alone.

Look at this:

https://dubz.co/c/5b1c38

Clear penalty. Again, WTF is VAR doing?

Only explanation is bias.

Newcastle get a totally nothing penalty at Soton for way way less on VAR.

Oliver has reffed Arsenal, Liverpool and City roughly the same amount of times (around 52-56 each) city zero red cards, Liverpool 1 red card….arsenal 8 red cards, and that’s before we look at the reds he hasn’t given against our opponents (Kovacic!)

One positive is that Califiori is back to cover. MLS red - 1 match ban? As I recall 3 match ban is for a violent conduct red which apparently this wasn’t.

Bernardo with a far worse cynical tackle than MLS just now - just a yellow, as these types of tackles are always called.

Maybe this one will drum up enough support for the media to really start looking at PGMOL - but then they pay Sky off to ensure no criticism

If it’s upheld it’s a 3 game ban
