When I see refs not give that free kick for the body check on a Jesus 5 mins before half time they seriously worry me. It’s just such an easy foul to give and it creates a dangerous attack for them

By far the better team. Villa scored a good goal, if you blame Arsenal for that goal then you can find defensive mistakes in every goal. But we’ve been by far the better team. Martinez has kept them ahead but we’ve had some poor finishing and decision making in the box. It isn’t going over the top to say we’ve cut them apart quite regularly

The goal is absurd. You can’t have your left fullback doing that in the first 10 minutes of a difficult away game.

Given Villa’s home record we are playing better than I expected but it was a good goal from Villa. I think there are goals in this as we are getting in really good positions but Villa have the luxury of waiting to catch us on the break.

The ball over the top is on all the time with Villa's high line but it needs to be executed more quickly before players run offside.

Not sure you can play Zinny at LB in away games against top sides. He's too much of a liability defensively, especially against teams with pacy wingers.

It was the obvious tactic before the game. It’s how Villa have been caught out in other games. More care and we’re in - encouraging to see that we’ve noticed it and are playing it. If the second half follows the same pattern we’d be unlucky to lose

Villa has forced us to up a gear. We are playing some good football. Its the final touch that has let us down and some fine goal keeping. I would guess we've had more shots on goal and been in more dangerous positions in their box than any other side in a while I'd guess.

Tbh, I didn't think it was a penalty. Yes, those have been giving but it was a bit too soft for me. I'd take it if it was given but I wouldn't have if I were the referee.
