We need a back line and this just illustrates the need. We may end up losing this one by 3 or 4 goals. Lampard chose a side with pace all over the pitch. Very smart move. |

I thought if you gave away a penalty for denying a goal scoring opportunity then you don’t get a red card. The point being that you haven’t stopped the clear goal scoring opportunity! They have the penalty! I thought the rule changed so it’s a red outside the box but a yellow inside the box |

You can not play Mustafi in a team that you are getting pressed from the back. The commentator said a few minutes before Chelsea should close down every player except Mustafi because he seems nervous each touch. |

Well the rules were different back then, the ref in the CL final had two choices he could send Lehmann off or play the advantage and give the goal. I thought the rule had changed to avoid the double punishment of red card AND penalty because the reason the red card is given is denying the goal, but all you’re doing is delaying the goal as the penalty is such a gift wrapped opportunity |

They relaxed the rule for accidental fouls, whatever they are |

Ok, just read that if it is considered an attempt to play the ball it is no red card, as Luiz just shoves him so not considered an attempt for the ball it can still be a red card apparently |

Mustafi shoots himself in the foot, Luiz says I can top that! I blame the players, and a blame a manager for continually picking them - but in this instance Arteta doesn’t have any other options, chambers injured, sokratis ill and holding nowhere near fit. Mustafi actually played ok v sheff Utd but then he does that. We need to get rid of these players ASAP, whilst they’re still here there is always the chance that they play |

A useless member of them at CB. I think 3 games is only for serious foul play or violent conduct. Straight reds can be only 1 game, such as handball on the line or what Luiz did. I’m certain it’ll only be 1 game.....and that could be the FA cup game. |

Why play Mustafi, a player who knows he is on borrowed time at Arsenal? His heart is not in it. Özil is ineffective, takes too much time on the ball. Same goes with Pépé. Wish more would play like Torreira, Saka and Martinelli. |

Statement of the obvious, but we have no creativity and offer no threat (a well as having a joke defence). The only hope is that Martinelli does something special individually again. Pépé still not looking like a £72m player unfortunately. |

Play on, instead of "putting hand on head" after every miss, or "appeal for a foul" when you lose the ball. Giroud used to do that too. |

Agree on Pépé, he’s very sadly starting to move into potential flop territory for me. Apart from anything else he’s apparently suited to a counterattacking style of play, a style we aren’t aiming for. Although in his defence (I wish we had one) we’ve not got near a recognisable style of play since forever. |
