Lacazette 1-0. Should have been a pen seconds before

Leno made a great save moments before the goal. Redmond has spring clear with 40 yards and ended up 1v1 with Leno.

Southampton all over us. Judging by the opening minutes this ref is going to let everything go today. The sooner Arsenal realise it the better as whenever we get refs like this we tend to hit the deck and have arms out wide for free kicks. Need to play the game to the way the ref is reffing the game

Kolasinac was down holding his head/face for quite some time before the ref stopped play

Great pressure from Lacazette first on the defender and then the gk to force the mistakes for our second goal. Love a striker who does that dirty work

25th minute and the first free kick given to us and only the second free kick in the entire game. Ref definitely letting it flow!

Xhaka is dictating everything for us. Spraying balls everywhere. Quality so far

Been a couple of moments of really nice combination and one touch football, mostly down the left. We also look more comfortable at the back now, certainly more than we were in the opening 15 mins

Lacazette has missed a sitter. Great wing play from Lichtsteiner. Lacazette skies it from 4 yards

We are ripping saints apart on every attack right now. Should be more than 2 up. Some of the fast paced direct football is brilliant.

I think a big difference has been the arsenal back 6 being able to push quick accurate balls in to the feet of the front players who are linking up well and allowing arsenal to move up the pitch quickly and dangerously

Respect to Ramsey for playing with heart, despite leaving soon.

2-0 HT
Couple of nice goals, could and should have had more. Balance of the team seems good. Lichtsteiner having his best game for a while. There is good movement and a lack of dawdling in possession.
Saints have looked dangerous at times and Leno made a crucial stop at 0-0 that may get overlooked if we go on to win but it was massive

Xhaka dictating everything. Saints are pressing high but they can’t get near him and his switching of play is getting our wide men 2v1 against their wingbacks.

4 players going off injured in the Man U v Liverpool game before half time. Man U have had to make 3 subs already due to injuries.

Saints escape a certain yellow for a foul on Xhaka. Ref keeping up his first half performance of being very lenient.

Xhaka undoes some of his good first half with one of his classic pass straight to an opponent in a dangerous position. Just wide

Lichtsteiner off injured. I swear we must lose far more players to injury DURING matches than most teams. So many defenders going off in the middle of games this season

Ref gives a saints corner for what was a clear gk. not even difficult to spot. The saints players were already jogging back to the half way line.

Quick thinking from Emery, Aubameyang was about to replace Lacazette but Iwobi went down. Emery delayed the sub and instead Aubameyang comes on for Iwobi

We have been really sloppy in the 2nd half.

Aubameyang shot blocked. Saints are brilliant at these last ditch goal saving flaying blocks. So many chances to properly put this game to bed. We should be 4 up easily

I don’t like the way we cede possession and territory to such poor teams once we are in front. Fulham, Cardiff, Huddersfield and now saints have all been given this kind of incentive

I like Aubameyang coming in off the left. I know it’s not his best position but he is our best attacking left winger as well.

FT 2-0
Comfortable in the end. Could have been a few more. Good first half, sat off too much in the second. More of the first half v Bournemouth would be most welcome. It’s chelsea v spurs and palace v Man U so an opportunity to gain more points on someone

Good win and all that but my goodness we can never ever ever ever put a team to bed can we ? Should have been 5 nil

We should have been out of sight after 45 minutes and just did nothing all second half. You were the expecting saints to score a flukey goal and then of all of a sudden it’s on us.

There is something wrong with our mentality for sure

That was a very good first half followed by a pretty drab second half. We really could have won that match 6 nil. Also, props to Iwobi who I thought was a real threat today. Unfortunately, I wanted to get some chips from the Arsenal Fish Bar and it's NO LONGER THERE! That was a real Arsenal institution, I cant believe its no more.

Get rid of Arsene and this is what happens...

Nor sadly is the erstwhile poster Arsenal Fish Bar. A lovely lady who is greatly missed. Another who was taken from us far too early.

Yes. She moved to Glossop but sadly passed away a few years ago now.

She was one of those forumites who met up at ‘Bar 101’ in the period after Ashburton Grove opened. And thanks to Harlow for organising that.

Jorginho cynically takes out sterling as he burst through and was clearly beaten for pace. Booked. The same ref, Jon Moss who sent Xhaka off for the same thing.

She passed away in August 2016. I knew her outside the forum and announced it here. You couldn't have been around at the time.
