Hate this formation. Much prefer a tighter 4-4-2, and Özil has been a passenger so far.

There are some footballers that when I watch them play, I wonder how they made it at as professional footballers and especially at PL level. Kolasinac is one of them. How the hell did he stand out from the crowd?

He hasn't. He is using the ball well when he has it.

Anyone advocating the sale of Lacazette is bonkers

He could be our hardest working player

He hasn't. He is using the ball well when he has it.

His influence has been minimal and he's been on the periphery. Would love him to prove me wrong and make a decisive contribution.

Brilliant from the front two again. Lacazette clips the post. To be honest I think he should score. Aubameyang could t have feed him up better

It’s a typical recent Özil performance so far

Just recycle possession over and over. Don’t think he’s adding much value

He was free.

I don't mean our signing of him. He was a regular in the Bundesliga too. I just don't see how he stood out at 16/17/18 years of age.

Aubameyang and Lacazette must not be sold. Arsenal better be wise about it.

Niles really under pressure with the attacking full back.

Have you read the chapter of fever pitch about Gus Caesar ?

Pretty much explains it.

I think the team are operating to instructions to hold back in supporting the front two. Well the midfielders anyway. Kolasinac doesn't like being too close to his own box.

Indeed. That's one of the standout pieces in the book.

Aubameyang gets unfair criticism

He gave everything for us in that half.

Great player

One good thing to come out of this season is the realisation that we should pay them together. Good times ahead if we can build on that.

Shocking tackle from Garay through the back of Lacazette. Reckless, endagering the opponent? Gets a certain yellow but it was easily an orange

Half way there.

Lacazette and Aubameyang have been superb tonight so far.

These boys are still dangerous and if they get a second its game on but at least we look capable of getting a second ourselves. Hopefully take advantage of the space Gaya is leaving at lb in the second half.

His work rate was fantastic. He was the one that got back to give AMN a hand.
The 3-5-2 does give us problems on the wing with the quick switch of play. In an ideal world you have Özil dropping in to central midfield and Xhaka/Torreira able to push wide to help but Özil is a bit of a passenger and it is the two strikers who are working back behind Özil and the next moment they’re the ones up front ahead of Özil

The Arsenal team when they see the crowd at the Mestalla.

Well that's it really, can we build a successful team with them both on the pitch?

No one wants to have to sell Lacazette. However if he can only play one of them and we need to raise money to buy new players then it may make sense to let him go. To be fair he has been very impressive against both Napoli and Valencia.

If scores stay this way, it will be an all English ECL and Europa League Finals. Must be a record which is very tough to come by again.

I’m happy enough so far.

Our goal seems to have knocked the stuffing out of them.

We need another one though, and we need to give AMN (Conservative) a bit of support.

Ironic that for years we had such a creative midfield but were crying out for a top quality striker. Now we’ve got 2 top quality strikers and no creativity behind them.

Same as defence. Koscielny and Mertesacker were the best CB pair since 20040 but we have them some tosh in goal. Now we’ve got a decent gk and we give him terrible CB in front of him

.
Good script ..... they score early give our defence a wake up call , then we score showing the dividends a punt forward can bring instead of the laboured 50 million pass approach .

They can't shag around in the second half and we'd be advised not to play too much keep ball as well . Nicely balanced .

That Aubameyang goal gets better every time you see it.

It’s the best he’s scored for us. Literally out of nothing

With a fair bit of help from Lacazette

After I praised his performances at right back, Maitland-Niles has been poor tonight. Is he just inconsistent, because I've seen him very good and pretty dismal in midfield too?
