I think you exaggerate how much work it would take to fix things. I don't agree with people who attribute this to some deep malaise at the club that would take years to correct.

I'm not exaggerating anything . I didn't say it would take years .

All it would take is someone with a clear vision , a decent set of cojones and it could be sorted very quickly .

Özil , Kolasinac , Luiz , Sokratis , Xhaka , Torreira .... Adios amigos ...... buy a few , a couple of loanees ,change our style of play . VOILA .

If Dein, Fiszman, hill -wood and Ken Friar were still running the club I just don’t believe they would have picked someone like Emery to replace Arsene.

Deins running an extensive process for something like that to acquire a manager of proven pedigree. We had years to think about it. At the time looking back it seemed Vieira, Emery or Arteta were the only choices. That’s just a poverty of options.

Unfortunately the reality is that the people running the club these days are worse than the ones previously. It just sucks

And of course here we are

5 defenders (7 defensive minded players ) for a home match against Frankfurt who won’t have any support.

Beating Real Madrid seems a century ago

Oh and no Pépé. Why would we ? :14laughter:

If you’re going to play Xhaka probably best done in an empty stadium.

Maybe Chambers or Luiz is playing in midfield.... I'm really clutching at straws here because that's a crazy line-up if it's 5 at the back and a 2 man midfield, one of whom is Xhaka.

Sofiane Boufal: Southampton midfielder injures toe running into kitchen table - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50592211p

We should definitely break the bank for Kitchen Table, a better tackle than any of our lot managed on a Saints midfielder

Another game another formation. With Saka, martinelli and Aubameyang that looks like a front 3. So either a 5-2-3 or 3-4-3 formation.

Pépé hasn’t started for ages.

Seems like Emery is just trying anything without a plan in any kind of attempt to get a result and performance

Greetings Dec .... Initially I thought the same but thinking on it might not be too bad .

We don't pass well at the best of times when we put out a normal formation so maybe the plan is .......

overload the defence and just spray long balls to Aubameyang , Saka , Martinelli and Willock ...

Completely by passing the midfield .

Chambers and Xhaka can find a team mate over 90 minutes surely .

How visionary , Unai is a genius .

Last time I looked Wolves were 3 -1 up away ... Yes , get Nuno in at Arsenal .... now it's 3 - 3

...Nah we don't want that pillock :laughing7:

Willock to be the scapegoat and pulled at halftime,

Well let’s face it he can’t hook Xhaka now !

Doesn’t look like more than 10,000 in the stadium. I’m surprised the awful attendances don’t get more coverage in the media.

There is the obvious laughing when Arsenal announce the attendance at 60,000 when it’s clearly more like 45,000 but rarely does it go beyond that laugh in the media

I remember arsenal getting 40,000 for the youth cup final in Wilshere’s time, and regularly filled out the stadium for early cup rounds when we played kids. Back then the fans had hope and belief and the potential and football was all still exciting. More and more people giving up on it.

I don’t get to go to games, I’d find it hard to justify the cost based on what is served up nowadays

4 at the back with Luiz as a holding mid. He’s far more likely to sit in the right position than any other CM we have.....although it’s still a sticking plaster move to put him there

A Luiz Xhaka midfield axis. Classic Emery

He’d play 11 defenders if he could get away with it.

Those poor fans deserve some entertainment, could have played Özil and Pépé and at least had some fun.

Just dour

Last europa game was sold out. Particular circumstances here. No tickets were sold - to anyone.

It’s not about Emery on this occasion.

This is not a brand of football that attracts people to stadiums though.

An exercise in not changing the channel

How to Make Stuffed Baked Marrow

Marrow might seem like a bland vegetable on its own, but its mild flavor works well with a variety of seasonings. For a spicy Spanish version, fill marrow halves with a chorizo, tomato, garlic, and paprika mixture. If you'd like a vegetarian marrow, slice the marrow into rings and stuff them with a cheddar and kidney bean filling. You can also make Mediterranean inspired marrow by filling halves with ground beef, feta, sundried tomatoes, and breadcrumbs. Bake your marrow halves or rings until they're tender and the filling is bubbly.

1
Preheat the oven to 395 °F (202 °C) and cut 1 marrow in half lengthwise. Rinse 1 marrow with water and put it on the cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut it in half lengthwise.

2
Scoop out the centers and place the halves in a pan. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds from both marrow halves. Once you've scraped out the seeds, put the marrow halves cut-side up in a large roasting pan.
Discard the seeds since they're watery

Sauté the onion for 10 minutes over low heat. Pour 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of olive oil into a saucepan and turn the burner to low. When the oil shimmers, stir in 1 diced onion and cook it until it softens.
Stir the onion occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

4
Stir in the garlic, chorizo, spices, and herbs and cook it for 2 minutes. Add 2 crushed garlic cloves, 1⁄4 pound (110 g) of chopped chorizo, 1 teaspoon (2 g) of smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) of cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) of dried oregano, and 1/2 teaspoon(1 g) of dried thyme. Stir and cook the mixture for 2 minutes.
The chorizo should brown and the garlic will become fragrant once it's cooked.

Scatter breadcrumbs and manchego over and bake it for 10 minutes. Remove the marrow from the oven and take the foil off the top. Sprinkle 1 2/3 cup (85 g) of fresh breadcrumbs and 1 cup (113 g) of grated manchego over the marrow tops. Put the pan back in the oven and bake the marrow for 10 more minutes.
The breadcrumbs should become golden brown.

Serve the Spanish stuffed marrow. Turn off the oven and remove the marrow. Transfer the halves to a platter and serve them immediately. Consider serving the marrow with rice or crusty bread.
Refrigerate the leftover marrow in an airtight container for up to 3 to 5 days.

I’d rather just bin our Spanish marrow.

1-0 HT Aubameyang

Maybe an unpopular opinion but Mustafi is better than Sokratis. Both have plenty of mistakes in them mind!

All going as per usual. concede - they look better than us at the moment although Chambers miss really told us how good he is. Still when people start leaving early there will no problem for them with transport home.

I don't know where rock bottom is but we may not be there yet.

You watch this defending open mouthed. How on earth do you leave 3 guys on the edge of the box from a corner with no one within 15 yards of them. You wouldn’t see this from an under 12 team.

If losing this means emery gets sacked then let’s hope they stick a 3rd in

2-1 down Lacazette and Pépé on the bench. Bring on torriera for a CB. What formation is this now? 3 at the back, 3 holding mids, Özil right wing.....
After every result I think ‘surely it’s this one that sacks him’....but yet we drift on.

Have a fan base ever been so 100% sack the manager and the board keep him on. There were plenty who wanted wenger to stay. I have not seen a single person who wants emery to stay
