The trouble with playing Aubameyang as the lone striker is that he doesn't have the all round game of Lacazette. He may be the better goalscorer but his hold-up play and general physical presence is inferior. For example, Aubameyang rarely even challenges for high balls hit in his direction whilst Lacazette generally makes a nuisance of himself.

Its a difficult one as away at 'pool is perhaps not conducive to all out attack but you can understand if Lacazette feels aggrieved at not playing.

Iwobi is playing well today, and that assist was well placed. AMN did very well to get to the end of that pass. Well done both!

Bum. That didn’t take long. Just when I was imagining clock watching for 80 minutes it’s back to 1-1 already.

Yeah. 1-2 now. Just as I feared. Walking straight through us.

Don’t we have a great defence?

Give me a go Unai, I couldn’t be any worse than these

Good anticipation and sweeping up there by Leno. Could have been nasty otherwise

Good energy from our players. They are charging down Pool's attack with venom.

Dreadful defending. This team cannot even do the simple defensive things like clearing to row z or picking up runners. We could collapse here

Shocking defending and if we don't reinforce in January it will be criminal.

I’m guessing that this is another league match where we won’t have a half time lead.

Perhaps Unai could train our back four with string tied between them. It seemed to work rather well for George.

What a really stupid tackle. 1-4. Halfway to the 8-2 debacle against Man Utd.

That must rank as one of the most iept and embarassing defensive displays in the history of Arsenal football club, infact of any football club.

If the Dog and Duck conceded those goals on a Sunday morning you'd say it was pathetic, for a professional football club to do it is just beyond belief.

The sad thing is we've played quite well going foward.

Just shows how stupid our defensive players are. Walking off at half time Sokratis is explaining at great length to Salah why it shouldn’t have been a penalty. And Salah is, unsurprisingly, ignoring him.

We're not being overrun in midfield, we're doing a good job of pressing them off the ball, and we're looking threatening going forward. And we're down 4-1. That says everything about where our focus needs to be in January. Desperately need a real leader at the back, and probably another centre back. Lichtsteiner hasn't shown anything this season that suggests he's up for this level of football anymore, so an alternative at right back is important as well.
