Apart from our goal we’ve not worked their keeper at all. 54th minute

Yeah. Perhaps he’d have scored the sitter that Smith Rowe just missed.

How did Smith-Rowe miss that? Even Socrates would have scored that! :1laughter: (joking, assuming he is as old as he insinuates).

While I think Pépé is going to come good and have a bright future with us, I think we ought to seriously consider playing Martinelli more.

Lacazette should not have done that. Poor sportsmanship.

I thought we would come out the 2nd half and take charge but I can see us possibly giving up a 3rd goal. I think we can leave with a 2-2 scoreline, even 3-2 if we get a bit lucky but not with what I'm seeing presently after 63 minutes of football.

My word we give away so many brainless free kicks, make it so easy for the opponents to relive pressure, and slow down the game. Easy for a ref to give as well. Not a single bit of savy in this arsenal squad

If the players get us out of jail here the opposition will be gutted. By far the better team.

20 mins left but we deserve exactly nothing from this game. Absolutely pathetic excuse for a performance.

I’m constantly amazed how arsenal players cannot get away with any sign of dissent at all to a ref. Yellows out immediately.

A piece of class from Pépé.

Entirely out of keeping with what has preceded it.

Two excellent saves by their keeper in the past few minutes.

At least we’re asking the questions now.

Amazing. Undeserved. But we’ll take it.

Pépé has arrived.

A bit like latter day Wenger football.

Some brilliance by an individual making up for a lack of constructive teamwork.

Two great hits by Pépé, well done to him :53big-emoticons: . Nevertheless we really got away with one there, we were awful.

Wow, 2 beautiful goals from Pépé!

If our younger players had performed, we wouldn't have gotten to see these 2 beauties from Pépé. Ironically, i think it turned out better for the team. Pépé got his chance, and now his confidence should be up.

A thought for Vitoria though, they deserved at least a point tonight. :53big-emoticons:

Their manager is going to kick a baby kitten to death.

Abysmal performance from us and we absolutely robbed them with those 2 free kicks

Our problems are clearly visible now however I enjoyed the 2 free kicks

I feel I’ve said enough through the game about the things under Emery’s control, not much of that changed in the second half, but we love this game for moments like Pépé serves up. He needed something to happen for him, and it’s even better that it wasn’t a goal in a 3-0 win, he was the main man, he got the equaliser and the winner, he’s the big money signing and it was his moment.

But the driving force in this team is Guendouzi, he was brilliant once again in his 45 mins. Everything he does is 100% commitment, desire, energy and raises his team mates. Give this guy the midfield around him that he deserves, build the structure of the team around him - he has been our leader on the pitch and will just grow and grow as the season goes on. He’s gone up 2/3 levels this season for me.

I’d love to see Guendouzi play with Özil, we lack creativity, Özil and cazorla has a good relationship on the pitch because cazorla was able to get the ball in deeper positions and pass it in to Özil quickly and accurately in the small window of time that Özil had found his space between the lines....Guendouzi can fit that role.

Hi Rich,

Pépé's goals were brilliant, it could be the moment when he really arrives. You are right about Guendouzi, he oozed class from the moment he came on.

Martinelli has an incredible desire and his movement and positioning are like those of a classic goalscorer.

I’m not sure Ceballos is showing us enough to make his move permanent.

There’s pirouettes and mobility but little else as far as I can see

Martinelli is a proper modern forward player. Capable of being a striker or playing wide, scores goals, very fast, high work rate, dribbles and incredibly mobile. Get 3 players like this inter changing in your front 3 and you become very dangerous.

Emery hasn’t helped torriera at all. He benches him and plays him not in his natural position. The game totally passed torriera by today. He’s drifting along at the club and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go back to Italy in the summer. If it meant replacing him with a 6ft+ strong, mobile defensive mid then I’d be all for it.

Right there. Does a lot of shaping but little end product. Has the twinkle toes to be a real playmaker but seems not to see what's going on around him.

Van Persie saying he isn’t convinced by Emery at all.

Don’t like him but couldn’t disagree with what he’s saying.

Felt a bit sorry for Willock and AMN being subbed off. The whole team bar Martinelli and Martinez were poor first half but it seemed like Emery threw the youngsters under the bus.

.

Too make matters worse for Vitoria I think Guendozi dived to set up the second Pépé goal .

Emery has no idea how to set up a team to counter the pressures of English football .

Think we will continue to play cr****py unstructured football but will finish top 6 due to the individual brilliance of Pépé , Aubameyang , Lacazette .

Palace have had a couple of disappointing losses recently so it's odds on we will make them look like world beaters next up.

Always nice to see us score from set-pieces - we don't do it enough, especially from corners.
