I’ll forgive Cédric the foul throw

Goal was all about Cédric. He’s done very well and looks more in sync with Saka. Arteta might be tempted to give him a run.

Cédric is so much better than Bellerin. Very good assist.

Aubameyang found his shooting boots

Why would you take off Aubameyang?

Stole this from twitter
Xhaka and Partey excellent in that first half for Arsenal. 95 passes between them, only four unsuccessful. Xhaka gained possession 11 times, Partey seven.

I was just reflecting on that. Wouldn’t we all be delighted if he managed to play himself back into the form that he undoubtedly has.

They started the season quite well but at this rate I can see Newcastle ending up as one of the teams fighting relegation.

Not wishing to tempt fate, but when was the last time Luiz made the kind of ricket he became known for. He’s been very good, again, tonight. Holding too. Encouraging to have a defender like Gabriel unable to get into the team at the moment.

Nonsense by Sky. It’s great that Aubameyang scored twice but the real MOTM performance was by Smith Rowe.

5th clean sheet in a row, the first time in 11 years we've done that.

Well I'd kind of forgotten what it was like to feel relaxed about the last 20 minutes of a game. With a dose of realism you couldn't have asked for much more, 3 goals and Aubameyang back in the goals, clean sheet, injured players back, kids linking up brilliantly again, Partey an absolute rolls royce of a player and a good rest for some ahead of the FA Cup this weekend.

3 more points on the board. That's the Arsenal we need.

I don’t think you will see anyone new coming in now. Our recent spurt of form will probably convince Arteta and the board to wait till summer to reinforce the squad

At last....some enjoyable football.

On the evidence of tonight one thing is clear, Partey is several levels above any of our other central midfielders. Early days but he appears to play the game at his own pace and always seems to have that bit of extra time and space which only the top players seem to create for themselves.

Well, he didn't take the break. Pedestrian football from him. But then, could be instructed by Arteta to slow things down.

Cédric looked good. It was good seeing Martinelli get a run out. Just as I suggested, that once we start getting more positive Aubameyang will get start looking like his old self. Partey in the middle was important. I'd love to see a game with him, Gabriel, Aubameyang, Saka, Smith Rowe, possibly Martinelli.

Holding continue to doing well. I saw Arteta talking to him after the match. I'd love to know what was said.

I really do wish Özil the best. But it was best he left. Its obvious some of our issues as a team was his presence. Mustafi is entitled to his opinion but he should have said that to Özil privately. Unwise decision. We paid 36 million for him. Most expensive defender for us. Still trying to get my head around that...lol. He's in no position to be making such criticisms public. He needed to go for footballing reasons now he needs to go ASAP for team chemistry reasons.

We looked much better without Pépé and Willian. That's a concern. Arteta still trying to find his best XI and has some hard decisions to make.

Do you think Arteta told him to slow things down :laughing7:

Whisper it quietly but Rob Holding is actually developing in to a very good defender.

Saka must be the best teenager in the league. It might have been Greenwood from Man U last season but he’s struggled for game time and form this year.

Was thinking about that this morning. For more than a decade we were howling that surely with some good coaching the defence could get better. Sure enough.

If rumours are to be believed and Mustafi is going in the summer or sooner, then he prob can't give a toss what he states publicly on social media. He's Özil's mate and not ashamed of it.
So there's division in the dressing room. Nothing new in that at all. It happens at many clubs. More concerned about what the Board-owners are or will do.

He is game by game. I still always have reservations over his lack of pace but if your positional play and anticipation is good you can get away with it.

We’ve actually looked somewhere between ok and very good defensively for some time. We have come a long way from the Emery and late wenger years where irrespective of the result we looked wide open and naive far too often

He’s been superb recently and never gets much credit. Like I said the other week I don’t think he’s far off an England call up.

They aren’t rumours, Mustafi’s contract is up in the summer, he’s off.

Polish TV described him ad an octopus. He was everywhere in midfield. A top player. Smith Rowe was excellent as was Cédric and Tietney again.
