Chelsea’s appeal to postpone their transfer ban whilst an appeal occurs has been rejected by FIFA. Too right it should. The fundamental point of a transfer ban would be moot if you’re allowed one more transfer window to stock up before the ban kicks in

PSG. Their exits from the CL are quite something.

I didn't know that. Fleetwood Town's founder was presumably a die-hard Arsenal fan.

I’m going next week and not confident of us turning round that lead. I’ve just got a feeling we are going to screw it up.

Arsenal have made more errors leading to goals and more errors leading to shots than any team in the prem. when you consider some of the awful teams, players and defences of the likes of Fulham, Cardiff, Huddersfield- even bournemouth’s Defence that is a shocking stat. It has been this way for years.
We take unnecessary risks and over estimate our ability. Obviously the players aren’t good enough but that stat isn’t down to poor players because a lot of poor players know their limits and don’t take risks, they might get beaten by a bit of skill but they don’t get tackled on the edge of their own box or pass it straight to the opposition striker

It’s got failure in victory written all over it. Either a 1-0 where we barter them but can’t get the 2nd, or a 2-1 or 4-2 where we gift a late goal having controlled the game

I’m guessing we will manage to get the requisite number of goals to see us through. The question is whether we concede. I’d put our chances of progressing a little over 50/50. Our home form is really good and the crowd will be behind the team. Getting knocked out would be a real low, comparable with some of the shambles we witnessed in the final year of Wenger’s management. It’s funny to think a week ago we were riding a crest of a wave that had many people thinking Arsenal had found some real form which would take us into the top 4 and see us as One of the Europa league favourites. Now the worry is we could be wobbling yet again.

I'm feeling quite confident we'll get through. We've made things hard for ourselves, but I do think some people over-react in their post-match negativity.

one thing we should definitely be doing is signing their winger sarr.

He has unnatural pace

And he scored about 100 goals for us. Not too shabby.

Very concerned about Aubameyang
Not sure if he has lost his interest with Emery and not as driven, or simply not hungry anymore

In Monchi’s two summer transfer windows at Roma, including loans in/out he had a record totalling approximately 100 players in and 100 players out.

If Monchi can help us get Manolas with his release clause and also the young winger Under that would be a nice start to his tenure.

If we say that Martinez gets promoted to No.2 gk and Nelsen comes back as a winger alternative then the squad still needs a CB, a LB, back up RB, Ramsey replacement and Welbeck replacement. Hopefully it’s a busy summer.....with £40m to spend :14laughter:

Arsenal fined £13k for a pitch invader in our home game v qarabag

For context.
Croatia FA were once fined £10k after being found guilty of racist abuse by fans at a game vs Turkey

Bendtner was fined £80k for displaying a paddy power logo on his boxer shorts after scoring a goal

I said from the start that Kroenke sees us as similar to Sevilla, getting Monchi in just confirms it, a football business that makes money for him and has no intention of even trying to compete with the top clubs.

Seriously what is the point of modern football?, unless you're owned by arabs or russians (or you're Man Utd), forget it, even have to laugh at all the w@nking over Spurs - they've won nothing despite being fairly consistently good, and even they've been relying on uncle Joe the tax dodger to some extent.

They'd have to pay me to go these days...

Cockups by top rated goalkeepers put criticism of Leno in context. Pickford's ghastly flap then ridiculous rugby tackle on Rondon a case in point. Also why we need VAR. Ridiculous referreeing.

It does my head. Using Arsenal in this manner is like using a Rolls Royce as a chicken coup. Sure it works fine but what a criminal waste. We must be in the top 5 or 6 in the World in terms of fanbase ... and we are trying to emulate Sevilla and Dortmund for a business model??? *%^@*** vulture capitalism.

Exactly. Pickford is a clear red. Denying a goal scoring opportunity without making a legitimate attempt at the ball.

Benitez doing what a managers has to do. Losing 2-0 somehow with 5 minutes left they are winning 3-2.

Remind me why didn't we go for him?

Haha spurs absolutely awful. They’ve been awful for about 7 games in a row in the league. I posted a few games ago about their luck in getting late winners when they had played badly would soon run out, it always does, well that’s come true. Makes last weeks offside and missed pen all the more annoying

Be interesting to see if MOTD highlight what Sissoko did today. Raked the Achilles of an opponent, shoved him then did that stupid head to head thing footballers do. Any one in isolation could be a yellow but when do you ever see a ref give two yellows for incidents seconds apart when their is a clash after an initial foul?

Could be very dodgy if we don't. Both Man U and Chelsea could go above them if we don't and they do.

That'll be sixth to fight for then..............

Being home helps immensely. I'm thinking draw right now. A win? Well, we have been stepping up in big games against big clubs as of late.

So unfair on the little teams. They were holding out well till then. Something like that knocks a team out of sync. Gave up watching after the second goal.

What was it in the end are they saying the ball was played by the defender when it was blatantly not a pass back but a deflection.

How could West Brom sack Darren Moore?

He has been punching well above his weight or maybe someone's trying to poach him, I don't blame them if they are.

Arsenal have the best chance conversion rate of all prem teams at 23%.
I’ve seen us miss a few sitters so my guess is that we may not create as many chances as other teams but the ones we do are better chances.
