Cabbage thrown at Steve Bruce: Aston Villa & police hunt fan

"To say it's disappointing is an understatement for a club like this," said Bruce.
"Unfortunately, it sums up the society we are in at the moment. There's no respect for anyone."

Yes, yes, Mr. Bruce. Horrific. The Club you manage, Villa, has got 1 win in 9 games in the second division, and just blew a 2-0 lead against Bottom-of-the-Table Preston North End, and you mugs managed to miss a 97th minute penalty.

I think Society is heading in the right direction if all you got at the end of that fuckwittery was a cabbage lobbed at the dug-out, missing your fragile body by a considerable distance. Just think the damage it could have done to your fair features if it had hit you in the face, God Forbid!

Agreed. Throwing selected fruit and veg is hardly an innovation. It is a hallowed and ancient political institution and one of the foundation of democracy.

To be fair, Brucey has taken it well.

Rotten tomatoes, peanuts from the back of the gallery, maybe some popcorn, but a cabbage?. Lol. Although my brother told me that he went to a nz cricket match where someone lobbed a roast chicken carcas into his area of the crowd. Choose your weapon I guess. Maybe a beetroot to really make a mess and show ones displeasure

Kick off in an hour everyone.
Team: Leno, Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Monreal, Kolasinac, elneny, guendouzi, Smith-Rowe, iwobi, Welbeck

Possibly a back 5, but I suspect it’s more like Kolasinac playing wide on the left with smith-Rowe and iwobi filling wide right and No.10 position

Now beetroot, that is an idea, and in season too! :icon_razz:

What do you have for a link for me today Babu?
I was surprised to find such a big game is not on cable here although I did see available on PPV in Spanish!

Qarabag totally dominated the game. They are passing through our midfield too easily. Surprisingly poor Arsenal. So many misplaced passes in the attacking play. Emery needs to make a substituition, although I'm not sure who he takes out or put in. We are just so poor in the midfield. Shocking, surprising :8angers:

Could have been worse - artichokes?

The formation is causing us problems. Our wing backs are being pushed back and are facing 2 players all the time.
I’d just switch it to a normal back 4 and push Kolasinac to left wing, Smith Rowe in the hole and iwobi right

Well done Iwobi, good composed play and assist. Smith-Rowe finished it well.

Crazy approach by Tottenham. Diving into tackles all over the place. You can't do that against Barcelona.

A well deserved loss. May it continue. :angel8:

3-0.
Not a great performance but clinical when we needed to be. The players looked like they’d rather be anywhere but there tonight. The early goal helped us but I don’t think it helped the quality of our performance as we mentally slacked off and it seemed like a performance where everyone is doing the minimum they can to get the result.

Great for the 3 goal scorers to get their firsts for the club, we’re sharing the goals around.

8 wins in a row

Why did Özil, when 15 yards out with a clear sight at goal decide to play the ball back to the edge of the box - which got intercepted?!
He needs to be more selfish in front of goal, I hope emery can cut out this wenger trait in the players of refusing shooting opportunities.
No chance that hazard, salah, De Bruyne give up the chance to bend that in the bottom corner - even if it needed to be taken with the weaker foot

Watching the Europa League highlights now and seems so strange with my local team Zurich in there, and The Arsenal and Chelsea.
How times have changed... Thursday night football eh...

Got FIFA 19 as well, and during the installation I was invited to play Kick Off, with a choice, I guess, of the Top 10 Clubs of the moment...

Plus, I've just noticed, a girl in the picture!!!

Didn't even notice that, I was so shocked by the choice of that 10

And the girl in the picture. Ugh Women’s football. I’ve never felt something so strongly that I also know I’m just plain wrong on. I’ve never had the experience of being a dinosaur before. Knowingly anyway.

I get upset when women’s football is called ‘football’ or when a headline says England or Arsenal and it means the women’s teams. Tell me someone else does the same. I’m on the wrong side of history aren’t I?

Leno showed why he was bought. A good shot-stopper.

Iwobi did well again, very good for him.

Well done to Sokratis, Smith-Rowe and Guendouzi on their first Arsenal goal.

Not going to mention the negatives, perhaps most switched off because of the opponent.

Fifa 19is rubbish. They have removed all the pace from the players so it’s no fun.

For me the obvious sign of improvement is the much better interplay and hardly a backwards pass.

Only one or two misplaced passes is a fantastic sign for the future.

Because that's what Özil does. Wenger didn't inst that in to him. It's the way he is. Lots of talent but lots and lots of flaws too.

BTW, City frequently over-complicate it around the penalty area. It's a Pep/Guardiola characteristic which Wenger bought into also.
