Slightly disappointed with that line up. Still if the attitude is right it’s good enough to win.

Must be one of the slowest and least mobile 11’s we’ve ever fielded.

Pace, power, mobility - the 3 things you desperately need in this league.

That is so disappointing................................

This is going to be a rollercoaster

The Luiz Mustafi defensive combo with Xhaka holding should be crucial. It looks like it’s been set up to Nick a point

I don’t really like teams without natural width. Arsenal have had this problem ever since we signed Aubameyang. Not saying we shouldn’t have signed him because he’s been brilliant but it meant our two best players were out and our strikers. It has never been brilliant with one of them playing wide so we have to play both.
The best way it incorporated them was a 3-5-2 but the key to that was Ramsey making those runs beyond the front 2.

Amazing how poor and unbalanced the squad was in that we’ve had a huge turnover of players in the last 2 seasons and were still a long way for a squad with any balance let alone quality

I think it’s just crazy we aren’t using Pépé.

There must be a reason that isn’t tactical he’s not getting any time. Maybe he’s not settled in London or whatever.

Subs: Martinez, Sokratis, Tierney, Torreira, Pépé, Saka, Martinelli

Not sure why youd pick Kola over Tierney at this point in time. Most interesting to see how Willock is utilised. He's not going to be an attacking no. 10 type with Özil on the pitch you'd think.

Makes no sense. I hope Freddie knows what he's doing or he could become another Arsenal record holder.

Minutes silence for Benik Afobe's daughter?

Nice bright start. Just need to keep concentrated and not get caught on the counter.

Good pressing from Arsenal. The ball is also being moved faster out of our area.

Scored on the retake.

Farce. VAR gives encroachment. But where was that when the Southampton player was in the box for ward prowse penalty last week?

VAR just seems to pick and choose when they intervene.

There was a Southampton goal yesterday that the bloke accidentally handballed before crossing for a goal, which should have been ruled out but VAR didn’t take any action

There were 5 of theirs to one of ours encroaching maybe the Saints one wasn't so obvious?

and it is Mike Oliver who is the best ref in the Prem.

Not to mention when Krul saved two penalties v Man U earlier in the season he was off his line for both. VAR has so many problems but issues of black or white really should be consistent for every game

Only goes to show how incompetent our refs are. Use the retirees I say.

We can literally concede 2 goals to anyone.

Does any team miss a good chance vs us? No one ever seems to mess up good chances.

Always killed for pace. So easy to counter attack because we have players without pace and without any sense of danger.

Xhaka, mustafi, chambers- they are never going to gain pace. There might be hope they’d learn positioning and football intelligence but they’re all experienced enough - they are not going to get better. Pretty shameful that we still put theseplayers our in the pitch.

Slowest back 4 in the prem in front of the slowest and least mobile midfield ‘protection’

Nobody tracked the free midfield man. We need someone to organise the defensive unit. Too much panic.

I thought going forward, in terms of link-up play and movement, it was the best we've played all season.

And yet..........we find ourselves 2-1 down because our fullbacks bombed forward, we lost possession and our midfield is not quick or alert enough to cover the space.

Xhaka was too far from Cantwell... he tried to pressure Cantwell when he got the ball - too late already.
