It's football that rarely wins things though because there are too many matches when it just doesn't deliver.

Harsh on Martinelli, he’s had some good moments. But there are only painful decisions to be made at this point.

The league are desperate for the 4th place north london rivalry to go to the last game. Yep, Saka’s done some great things, one surging run through midfield, players flailing in his wake and a great pass. Literal silence from the comms. Everyone invested in a Spurs win for the drama.

Not counting today but there are a huge number of matches they win that they have no right to. 9 relatively average players and 2 world class forwards.
Irrespective of what happens this season look at the results of both teams and see which you think is more easily replicated next season? Spurs to do the double over City again?

Win our next two and it’s done. We need that final push

Son and Kane have to be the two most protected players in the league. Soft penalties far too often, dirty fouls and elbows never punished and in Son’s case a player who has avoided getting a reputation as a dirty player despite 3 red cards in quick succession including one that broke a players leg.

I stopped watching at 2 nil. In hindsight, you have to say Rob Holding who has been excellent since he came into the team got punished tonight for his rather obvious campaign of sh1!housery against Son. If Arteta can somehow get 2 wins from the last 2 matches then I will be well impressed, because I just dont see it, Newcastle away in particular looks very tricky.

It’s a spurs wankathon from sky,

Harry Kane man of the match for a pen and scoring from a yard out

Hi Bored,

Holding had his pants pulled down tonight, it was just idiotic what he did. I mean how many warnings does he need. Clearly the hair transplant has killed some brain cells. It's possible that moment of madness could cost us top four.

Tough game at Newcastle. They have nothing to play for but they are resurgent with a vocal crowd and some players who can hurt you.

I expect us to drop points in at least one of the two games left.

Spurs have 18 goals from their last 26 shots on target at home. That is ridiculous. So reliant on that pair of elite finishers. They don’t dominate games, they don’t create lots of chances and they struggle to break down teams that sit in and don’t give them space.

If they nick 4th it will be so frustrating because our path, potential and progress is miles above them.

Only plus was it not getting worse than 0-3 given just how long was left.

Ok lads win your next 2 and it doesn’t matter.

If god is on our side we will beat Newcastle then it goes to the last game.

You won’t need a team talk for Newcastle

He should have rolled around holding his face after the elbow from Son. If it had been Xhaka you know that everyone would just say he’s been stupid, doesn’t need to get involved and has given the ref/var no option.

Quite restrained of Arteta not to put Ben white on. I’m not sure it was the right decision or if he got the line up right but clearly we’ll need White to come in and partner Tomiyasu it looks like at CB. I’m just so annoyed we’ve signed Partey and he’s turned out to be another crock. If he stays fit we’re a different team. Yet again relying on players who aren’t there when we need them.

Reading some analysis and there is far too much of ‘it’s was far too comfortable for spurs’ it’s as though the red card never happened. It was comfortable because we were 1-0 down to a soft penalty and played for 60 minutes with 10 men - it’s pretty tough!

It was the same here. Freddie Ljungberg among others talking about how Arsenal were disappointing in the first half and Tottenham clearly the better side. Yeah, after they scored from a soft penalty. Before that they did nothing. It was just another game were Tottenham couldn't have written a more perfect script.

Agreed, he's got to be more clever. If he has a grievance with Son wait until after the game and chin the smug cheat in the tunnel where there are too many bodies around for the cameras to work out who did what.

Don't care who Spurs are up against in their final two games. With CL on the line and a chance to take a huge leap forward for the entire club, there's just now way we should lose against Human Rights Violation FC.

I think the correct decision once it was 2-0. At 1-0 when they were still considering the issue maybe we should have but now glad we didn’t provided he gets thru both matches.

At one point did they actually var review a potential penalty for spurs when it was the spurs player who handballed it in our area?

I thought we started well but Spurs started to get into the game and we were very sloppy across the park and starting to look a little desperate in decision making and then the penalty.

Neville has a vested interest in us failing because he has been made to look stupid all season with his predictions and comments about Arsenal. His commentary has really gone downhill, he can’t commentate on Man U objectively at all now and despite actually being very reasonable with Arsenal in the latter wenger years now seems to have an issue with us

My concern is that we just don't create enough chances with the possession we have, Haz, which makes any game against any team at any time difficult, especially games like Newcastle away. Even tonight we started quite well but didn't really create much in the period we were on top.

I've no problem with the pen, but if you give that you've got to give them all, all the wrestling and shirt pulls and everything else that we see week-in week-out in the PL.

We may not lose Haz but a draw is very possible.
A point is of no use.
Newcastle will be fired up to do us.
How bad do we want it??
Win the next 2 and we are in the champions league.
No better motivation than that

Even the stupid presenter on Be - in sports was gushing over Spurs .
Could hear the glee in her voice.
Really hope we ram it down all these so called pundits throats.

Glad I didn’t watch that. Turned my phone on at 9.40 to find out the result. Think that’s it lads. Don’t see it with what we’ll have at our disposal at the back. Know nothing of the game, of the performance other than the headline.

We are going to blow it aren't we.
I'm OK with Europa.
At least its a competition we can genuinely win.
The only downside is missing out on the huge finances and better players though we are still a draw even in the europa league
