Not sure we deserve to be ahead at half time. Sterling has to come off, just woeful. Give Nwaneri or Saka 45 minutes.

Trossard coming in to some tidy form at the business end of the season, still a big chance he starts v PSG as a floating 9. He’s one of the few players we have who have a sense of urgency and accuracy in the box, touch, make space and shoot. Stuff happens for him in the box

Wow, that was a great block from Kiwior off Nketiah.

Nketiah has been quite poor this season but tonight he suddenly looks great. He’s obviously trying to prove a point!

So the interesting thing there is was that goal ruled out for offside or ball out of play. There wasn’t an offside so it’s important because it’s about proving the ball was definitely out or proving it was definitely in.

Make that the 14th time we’ve conceded an equaliser in the league this season.

I know we may have an eye on PAG but Arteta must be fuming with this performance. It’s the opposite preparation he would have wanted. Sloppy, casual, no tempo, really poor

Laboured, lacksadaisical and lacklustre.

Oh, and another Saliba brain fart.

We must be deliberately trying to lull PSG into a false sense of security.

I’m annoyed how we continually suffer these lapses in concentration at home, it’s not just this season. 5 home games I think this season we’ve led at home and ended up drawing (assuming this is a draw) 10 points dropped just at home in games we should see out.

I t think Arteta really got this one wrong. We should have gone full strength from the beginning.

Lacked concentration throughout. Eyes were firmly on Tuesday. No more brain farts from the defense and Ødegaard needs to find his compass.

Hate to say it, but what does Ødegaard bring to the team these days? Drops too deep, gets lots of possession, but does very little with it.
A confidence thing, or maybe reached the limits of his ability?

2-2 FT
Really frustrating to throw in probably our most error ridden performance of the whole season.
Last two home games have not been good enough no matter that there were bigger CL games ahead. Our home should be a fortress not a place mid table teams can casually turn up and earn an easy point.

Play like that v PSG and the tie will be over in the first leg.

I don’t think there is much chance we don’t finish in the top 5 mainly because those teams play each other and they won’t all win their games but there is a serious threat that we won’t finish 2nd and that will be mildly embarrassing.

The supposed ‘free hit game’ v Bournemouth in between the PSG games now becomes more important than it should have been. A win tonight was crucial and our sloppiness has blown it. Arteta should read the players the riot act after that

Indeed. They’ll celebrate it and probably do a video - “how we stopped Arsenal from winning the league for two seasons in a row”.

It was only Saka missing. Merino is injured, it was our best team minus Saka and considering he might have been nursing a sore achilles after the weekend it was right to rest him. I would have played Nwaneri ahead of Sterling though

It’s not far off it though. It’s just Sterling and clearly the plan is to play Trossard v PSG so that system needs minutes.

It’s just a shitshow and precisely what I expected when I posted this morning

Now need points v Liverpool and Newcastle to get 2nd

Got to being in some competition for him next year. When Ødegaard is off it our creativity really suffers

Off the ball he’s superb and essential.

On the ball he’s having a mare in the final third. Slow down ffs mate, don’t slash wildly or rush the final ball. He’s lost all composure in possession

Another in a long line of disappointing draws.

Our ability to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory is second to none.

It is fairly obvious some firepower and better creativity is needed in the summer in order to turn possession into chances and goals.

I hate how seemingly comfortable we feel when we only have a 1 goal lead. 1 mistake, 1 moment of brilliance, 1 bounce of the ball and we’re killed.
I find it hard to lay the blame at the defence most of the time because we need to be pushing on to kill the game. Get two goals in front and we very very rarely drop points. 1 goal lead we’ve dropped points 9 times compared to closing the game out when we have lead 18 times. So a third of the games we’ve led in we’ve dropped points - it’s too much and in most of those games we haven’t been defending for our lives trying to keep them out.

Currently I think it’s our biggest problem for next season because I’m certain we’ll sign a striker, a winger and a holding midfielder- but I’m not convinced the club will see the need for a more creative player and competition for Ødegaard. Ødegaard has been given a pretty easy ride by the fans and media this season because he’s really not been at it at all. Worrying that he only looks anywhere near his level when he’s playing with Saka.

For contrast Liverpool had led in 29 games this season and only dropped points in 5 of them. 9 out of 27 for us.

That stat of drawing 9 games when leading is the most of ANY team in the prem since 07-08 season.
